- We have had extremely poor service in our neighborhood regardless of what phone carrier. I was skeptical to say the least that a cell phone booster would really give us service where phone calls regularly dropped. Once my husband installed the antennas and booster I was truly shocked with the great service I immediately had. I highly recommend this unit. It has been up and running for a week and not one dropped call. I’m so pleased!
- I bought this booster and it was a simple install. Unfortunately it didn’t support my cell band frequency. I got in contact with customer support and they pointed me in the right direction and was easy and fast communication.
- The amplifier and antenna installed correctly but as in a previous unit the support docs did not match the amplifier unit shipped. The unit pictured on the box and docs did not resemble the unit shipped, but using generic install directions achieved the desired result. This unit installed in a very low ambient signal level situation but it was sufficient to the task of providing suitable indoor signal levels in a 800 square dwelling with multiple walls.Don’t know how the attenuators on the amp might function in a situation with stronger outdoor signals.I downrated it for the inaccurate docs alone. One should not have to spend valuable time out of the box with Amazon and Vendor contacts in discerning how to set it up.
- If I have 2 to 3 bars of 5g service outside why am I only getting full 4g on the inside of my shop when its only a difference of 6feet? Don\'t get me wrong the device works but it doesn\'t make sense why im getting these results. I still recommend buying it though.
- The device works great in our rural location. Prior to this, we had an old 3G booster that I had installed about 12 or so years ago. Back then, it helped a little. However, in recent years I noticed it was not really helping, which is likely due to Verizon\'s changeover to 4G and then 5G. I researched all of this, with respect to boosters and also talked with a Verizon store rep who gave me other pointers. It is very important to find out which cellular bands are being used in the area and where the cell towers are so that you can (1) know if a booster will even help, (2) know which booster to buy, based on the bands it works with, and (3) know how to aim the antenna. While the \"bars\" indicator will help, you may learn that in the \"settings\" menu, your phone has another signal strength meter that measures the signal in \"dB\". Additionally, by downloading one of the Cell tower locator apps (just check online), you can determine tower location and which bands they use.For the installation, I used the provided cables. I installed the outside antenna at a height that is probably about 8 to 10 ft higher than the inside antenna, and probably about 30 to 35 ft horizontally. I think the manual recommends 25ft higher or, alternatively, 50 ft horizontally. Neither of these was practical for me. When I checked the signal strength (in dB), using the recommended App from the instructions, it was within tolerance. Before getting this new booster, we had only 1 out of 5 bars (sometimes 2 bars), which basically only allowed for phone calls. (In the early years, when the old booster worked, we could get 2 or 3 bars.) Now, with the new booster, we have 3 to 4 bars (out of 5) of strength inside the home. Even out in the yard we have about 2 to 3 bars of strength versus only 1. This is with Verizon. However, the booster even improved AT&T cell service a little. Before, we had 0 to 1 bars, which basically was \"no service\". Now, we have about 2 bars. (I ordered the specific device that worked more so for Verizon bands, since that is what we subscribe to. Visitors may have AT&T or other carriers though.) On Verizon service, I can now even use my laptop with VPN, using my phone as a hotspot, whereas before, the VPN would not work. The data transfer is a little slow since this is a cellular network (vs. FIOS or cable). My VPN and certain web services detects this and simply indicates that it is adapting for the \"metered\" service. Regardless, it is great just to be able to have the connectivity that 3 or 4 bars allows. We have had the booster for about a month now and it is great. Younger family members who rely more on their smartphones have even indicated that the service is great, even though the data transfer is a little slow.
- C\'mon. I should\'ve known. These things don\'t work! I had nearly a full signal near the thing, but I was barely getting an internet connection. Then I would lose the signal when I\'d be near the other side of the house. I was hoping this would be a fix to not having Wi-Fi calling with US Mobile (Verizon/T-Mobile). I ended up returning it and I switched my service back to AT&T. Now my Wi-Fi calling works and I get enough signal to get some internet without a booster.
- It takes a little trial and error to get the antenna pointed to the best cellular tower, but once that is done, I went from 1 bar to 3 bars cellular signal. So that is a decent improvement.
- I live in the country in the woods with limited cell phone service , usually 1 bar and I have a metal roof on my house. we can barely use our cell phones here and have frequent drop calls unless you step outside then it’s still not that great. After reviewing several cell phone boosters looking at price etc. I decided to go with this one and give it a try. I have a two-story house with a covered porch but the metal roof is too slippery to walk on so I decided to mount it on my facia board with 2-5 foot antenna sections mounted to the bracket I had bought so by no means is it above the roof of my house and I must say I went from one bar to 2 bars up to 4 bars , it changes, and can now use my phone inside my house however when I step out of the the living room and go into other rooms in the house that are farther away I go down to maybe two bars but still can call and don’t drop calls anymore. I was very skeptical and how well this would work where I live but now I am just amazed on how good this thing works. Installation did take a while as I had to run lines from outside through the basement through the rafters and up through the floor and also adjust the antenna direction a few times to get it tuned in but well worth the time and effort. Wish I had bought this years ago. I know every situation where you live may be different but all I can say is I highly recommend this product to give it a try as it did work beautiful for me and was way cheaper than some of the more expensive units I looked at.
