- I was looking for a KVM to be able to switch two DisplayPort monitors between my desktop computer and my work-issued laptop. Although Vertiv normally has a good reputation for KVMs, this particular product is terrible. Fresh out of the box and straight from the factory, the default configuration is that only monitor 1 is switched between the two computers.UPDATE: after playing around with this switch some more, I changed my rating from two stars to four stars and also discovered the following:- The switch is sensitive to the type of connection cable used, so on one monitor where I had used an HDMI to DisplayPort cable the monitor was not correctly detected by the switch. Changing out the cable for an HDMI to HDMI cable solved that issue.- This switch attempts to determine the capabilities of the attached monitors, and so it\'s important to connect the monitors to the switch first, then power up the monitors, and then finally to apply power to the switch while waiting about 1 minute for the switch to finish interrogating the monitors. Then if any attached computers are powered up - both monitors will be successfully detected at their suggested resolution and refresh rates- It is important to remember that the KVM switch \"emulates\" the attached keyboard and mouse to each attached computer. Unfortunately the keyboard emulation is not comprehensive, so if your keyboard has special function keys or other additional keys for such items as adjusting volume - these keys will no longer function correctly when using the keyboard with this switch. For example, I have a Logitech K350 keyboard with an Ergo thumbwheel mouse and the volume keys on the K350 keyboard do not work when connected through the Vertiv Cybex SC920D switch.
