JBL Lifestyle E65BTNC Wireless Noise-Cancelling Over-the-Ear Headphones - Black
- These headphones are a life saver! When I originally bought these in 12/18 I was working in a cubicle office setting. I could hear my cubicle neighbor chewing, I could hear another humming, etc. It was driving me crazy. I almost always had my headphones on with music so that I could concentrate but they were earbuds and would leave my ears feeling sore after a long day at work. After a lot of research, I chose these - mainly due to the price. These are a complete game changer for me. They are comfortable and I wear them all day long (8-10 hours). At first I felt like they were heavy but that is most likely because I have not worn over the ear headphones. As far as noise cancelling, they are amazing. I have gone on four flights and use them daily. You don\'t even have to have music playing for the noise cancelling to work. Simply turn them on and wear them. You can hear a little hum but it makes a huge difference in sound. Sometimes I wear them without music if I need to focus but don\'t want the background noise. I actually had to buy a mirror so I could see someone walk up behind me. With music on, I literally can\'t hear anything but my music. My coworkers enjoy trying to sneak up on me.As far as battery life, I charge them overnight when I leave the office and wear them for 8-10 hours at a time without charging. Sometimes I forget to charge them at night and they still have life to them the next day. The sound quality tends to worsen near the end of the charge. If I notice this, I just plug them in and keep right on going. The range is nice too. I work in an open office space where there are no walls, just cubicles. I can get about 40-50 feet away from my desk without losing the sound. After that, it doesn\'t work. At home I can leave my phone on my bed and get about 10-15 feet away from it. If I try to get two rooms away, it doesn\'t really work. But, I can at least pace my home office if needed. As far as sound quality, I listen to classical, 70s rock, and mainly country music. I don\'t really listen to music with heavy bass so I cannot speak to the quality there. For what I do listen to, the music sounds great. I listen to my music on the lowest volume setting my phone will support and it\'s plenty loud for me.If you are on the fence but are primarily looking for noise cancelling, get these. You won\'t regret it.
- These headphones have great sound quality with good stereo detail and an even mix, not too bass heavy. The sound feels wide yet distinct. Wired use for gaming can not use ANC (active noise cancelling). The battery life is fantastic. I\'ve owned these for months and used them almost daily and charged them twice, maybe three times. However, connecting these headphones to my laptop and phone is an absolute PAIN. They will be connected to my phone playing audio and suddenly choose to switch to my laptop, which is shut off and closed. The system for remembering devices and connecting automatically doesn\'t seem to work, you always have to manually choose the device every time. The numerous other wireless headphones I have tried out connected much more seamlessly. Furthermore, the audio will cut out for a few seconds then the headphones will play the \"connected\" ping and resume audio. The media playing, such as youtube, doesn\'t pause. Quality also dips occasionally, sounding grainy or crushed for a second. This is the only complaint I have with these, however. The fit is snug and secure, the ANC works well, and the sound is great. Great all around option on a budget!
- Bought these two months ago and used on four air trips, as well as working in a school library and walking around the streets of NYC. I tested these in store before buying here. Here is a categorized rundown:Sound profile: I would call it an \"enthusiast\" sound profile. While Bose/Sony goes for a very classy/buttoned up mix, and the Beats use a bass-heavy rap-friendly mix, these kinda shoot the middle, with clear bass (even with ANC on) and great treble and mids. I am a big Relient K/Twenty One Pilots fan and the sound profile really serves that kind of music well, and these can do the hip-hop or classical genres decently well.Noise Cancelling: the ANC is GREAT for this price point. Try them out in store if you need more info. Obviously, these won\'t beat the $350 Sony or Bose systems, but it eliminates all the noises you don\'t want to hear. These cancel better than the Beats and other less premium competitors. It eliminates the rumble of traffic/crowds/the subway in NYC, almost all noise during air travel, and the dull hum of A/C units in buildings. If you need your headphones to be a tomb for your ears, these won\'t do, but if you\'re just looking to kill the everyday noises that wear you down these are great.Quality: I drop these just about every time I take them out of the case, and so far they have held up. I lost a trim piece on one side, doesn\'t bother me but can be frustrating. I have doubts about the hinge folding design, so I try not the fold them necessarily. If a problem occurs I will update this review.Overall, these are a great set of cans, with the trademark JBL sound profile and surprisingly good ANC. If you want a more playful sound profile, or don\'t need the total silencing of the Sony/Bose sets, I highly recommend giving these a look.
