JBL Quantum 600, Wireless Over-Ear Performance Gaming Headset, Black
- Probably our 4th pair of headphones we’ve purchased for his gaming. From Turtle Beach on.. this is his favorite pair. I like the colored lights on the ears when he is playing.
- I purchased this headset to use in lieu of earbuds. For me, the cover on the ear pieces creates too much heat. I happened to have covers for the ear pieces--while not an exact fit, the material helps to eliminate some of the heat.Construction of the product seems to be not up to what I was expecting. The material used to the cover the underside of the piece that fits atop of one\'s head, that material has pulled away. Also the material placed on the microphone seems to be wear & tear.I am using the headset daily but am NOT abusive to the equipment.Overall, the sound provided is good to very good. The other options on the headset such as special lighting, etc. is nothing I was truly interested in.Bottom line, I believe I need to consider the reality that I will have to replace this headset sooner than I expected.
- There are only two comments to them: there are no track switching buttons on the headphones that would not interfere and the headphones do not work when recharging. I don\'t know how long they will last, but I\'ve been using them for a few months now and I\'m satisfied.Of course, this is not a device for listening to classical music in high quality, but for such a price, such headphones are not sold. For everything else, the capabilities of this device are enough.
- First let me say the 3D \"surround\" of this headset sounds horrific for anything but gaming. Music, movies, it\'s too awful to not distract. They have the shortest range of any headset I\'ve used, which is odd as they use a dedicated RF USB adapter. The noise it makes when it starts in obnoxious, a chicka chicka guitar muted strum with a chord slide. Pointless. They turn off very, very quickly if nothing is playing which is odd, perhaps because their charge lasts a very, very brief time. Perhaps 3 hours with the pointless RGB lighting turned off. None of this would bother me if they sounded as good as I\'d expect JBLs to sound. The \"chat\" feature is really a crossfade between the primary sound driver and communications in Windows, which many headsets have as a feature of their drivers usually for the purpose of answering phone calls, and it actually works pretty well so if that\'s why you\'re buying this headset they\'re merely acceptable, but certainly not worth the price. There\'s far better cans out there for the price, especially the HyperX Cloud
- I love the sound from this headset when I\'m within 5ft of my computer - which is pretty much the maximum range on this thing. 10ft if there\'s nothing but air between your headset and the dongle (if you have a chair in the way, that\'s apparently too much interference).I bought this headset because my last HyperX refused to connect to the proprietary software. JBL has legendary sound, and I figured there\'s no way anyone makes audio software as bad as HyperX. ENTER: JBL QuantumENGINE. Every time my headset connects (which, thanks to the terrible range, is often) I get a pop up reminding me to update my firmware. I have attempted to update it about 10 times and the installation always fails in what I believe might be the 75% mark.In researching this firmware issue online, digging through years of forum posts, I found the one thing that is supposed to work: don\'t use the USB-C cable that comes with the headset because it\'s pure garbage AND only update the firmware while running QuantumENGINE on a laptop. That\'s right. Desktop computers can\'t do it for some reason.It\'s very annoying that I have to jump through all of these hoops to have the headset work. The range is pathetic. BUT the sound quality is so good that despite all of my gripes, this thing deserves 3 stars. Barely.
- i have been holding off on getting a new headset i\'m so glad i got the jbl Quantum 600. very good comfort on my head and ears great sound it has two sound adjustment one for the game volume and the other for chat volume its great because u can hear people in discord and other chat apps with a clear voice. Headset also charges really fast it was at 38% i put the headset on the charger and had a lil bit to eat when i came back (15 minutes) later it was fully charged . A charge last a long time even longer if you turn off the rgb lighting. Easy to install software it even has a youtube video to help you install but its pretty much just plug and play after you update the software. Only bad thing is you can not use the headset when it is charging =( Over all very happy i wish i didn\'t wait so long to upgrade my headset what a difference the JBL Quantum 600 made in my gaming experience !
