Logitech Z407 Bluetooth Computer Speakers with Subwoofer and Wireless Control, Immersive Sound, Premium Audio with Multiple Inputs, USB Speakers
- In all honesty, I was hoping for a great system with high quality sound. These fall a bit short but you get what you pay for. They were easy to set up and I toggle between Bluetooth and hard connectivity with relative ease. I found that the company didn\'t include the HDMI cable that was necessary, but I contacted Amazon and they gave me a generous discount on my purchase. At least, they said they were going to: I don\'t know if they actually followed through, or not. Hmmm... I should check on that. :-)
- I bought these to plug into a Raspberry Pi 4. There were times where the \"puck\" simply would not adjust the volume. Unplugging the USB cable from the back of the sub, then plugging it back in seems to fix the problem. There also seems to be some lag between the time you turn the puck and the time the audio is adjusted. This caused us to accidentally turn up volume too high. We needed to be more patient. In the end, we turned the volume up on the speakers and just used the computer to control the volume.Connecting to bluetooth from an iPhone worked as expected and overall the sound quality is quite good for our purposes.
- UPDATE 30/12/21:Channel switching (the way you switch between AUX, USB, or Bluetooth), one of the cons in the original review, has started to be more bothersome than initially thought. I first noticed it when the puck\'s batteries died and had no more AAA batteries, so I had to buy some (there is no other way to switch without the puck). Then, I wanted to use the speakers both with my PC and another smart device at the same time, without having to physically press the puck\'s button (here comes into play my wish of it automatically switching based on what device\'s audio is playing), i.e. simultaneously.Sound quality-wise I still can\'t complain, but for other features, and taking into account that it came out recently enough (2020 IIRC), it doesn\'t feel modern enough.ORIGINAL:Bought these to replace some 8-9 years old Genius gaming speakers I had. My old ones had good volume and nice bass (also with subwoofer), but they had static and noise issues (probably from age) so I wanted something that could get just as loud, fill the room with sound, and have good sound quality; basically, be on equal or better footing. I\'ll just get straight to pros/cons, but do not get discouraged by me detailing my cons more which makes it seem like it\'s more bad than good; it\'s not the case.PROS:- The control puck. It\'s wireless and works on batteries, meaning fewer cables. This frees up space in my desk since I had a bigger, wired box for my speakers before.- The sound quality. These have more clarity and full sound than what I had before. Mids and highs sound clean, and the lows/subwoofer are also clean and don\'t rattle, while still being boomier than my old speakers. I\'m a bass head, so I\'m really pleased with the low end here. The volume can also get pretty loud and the sound is still clear. The room also gets filled with sound better.- Multiple audio channels. Can connect via Aux, USB, or Bluetooth. I mostly use Aux and BT, haven\'t tried USB yet but it shouldn\'t be that different from Aux really. It\'d be nice if USB mode was able to connect to one of Logitech\'s software.CONS:- The speakers seem to have a standby/idle kind of mode that is based on inactivity (e.g. no audio has played in 15 minutes, but haven\'t actually tested how long it takes). In this mode, no audio will come through since it\'s basically off. There is no manual on/off switch so it does it automatically. My issue is that the way it turns back on is unfavorable since it needs audio to come through for at least ~2 seconds. The problem? If I have it connected to my phone or my computer, and I have notifications coming in, I won\'t hear them, because notifications play for less than a second, which is not enough to turn the speakers back on. I\'ve missed many notifications because of it.- Had some issues with the left speaker port making false contact, so sometimes I had to turn the cable end a little bit.- It would be nice if the speakers switched the audio channel automatically based on which one is playing. Sometimes I\'d have both my PC and phone connected, but it was in 3.5mm Aux mode and I was a little far, so I\'d have to get to the puck and press the Bluetooth button to switch. It\'d be nice if I could\'ve just played something on my phone and it would just switch since the other channels are not playing anything.- The knob in the control puck does not have a turn limit, indicators, or anything, so you have to adjust the volume by feel (until you can hear the max volume audio cue or nothing at all). This is mostly an issue in Aux mode (and USB I\'m guessing), since when using Bluetooth, it is tied to your device\'s volume, so you can actually see the percentage in your phone while adjusting the volume, or just control it from the phone.Overall, I think they\'re great and met my expectations, with those small issues.
- Bought these to replace a recently purchased set of bluetooth speakers without a subwoofer. I am not an audiophile- at least not where I am going to notice that the highs were just a tad flat and that type of sound quality. But I do love good quality sound from my devices. For the price point, this is a fantastic sound set up for my desk. Quite frankly- it is loud enough to more than fill a few rooms. Would highly recommend this set for someone looking for great quality for their office.
- This needs to be clarified. roundhouse support. Repeated questions, did all that was asked to no avail. After reviewing the manual, I did a reset that fixed the issue.
- I like everything about these Speakers.
- I have two computers that I use in my office. Depending on what I\'m doing I like to hear sound from one or the other at different times. I can connect these speakers via bluetooth to one computer and via usb to the other computer. With the wireless volume controller you can easily switch between inputs to the speakers. This allows me to use the same set of speakers for both computers with extreme ease!I definitely recommend this for others with similar needs.
- Have not had any issue very loud and clean. But the sub does not go as low has I will like for more harder cleaner deeper bass. But other then that it worth it.The Bluetooth is great everything about this it great.
