Sony Bluetooth Noise Canceling Stereo Headphones MDR-NWBT20N Black (Japan Import)

  • I\'ve used this model for quite a while and it is a great Bluetooth headphone for all-around use.BATTERY LIFE: The battery life is pretty decent. I get 6-8 hours with noise cancelling on. Very rarely do I have it just die on me because I forgot to charge it. That said, there\'s really no way of knowing how much charge there is. So, best to keep it charged up.NOISE CANCELLING: The noise cancelling is quite good. Does a great job of cancelling out constant low frequency noise like running fans, road or engine noise in a car, or jet noise in a plane. I\'ve even used them in lieu of earplugs when operating gas powered lawn equipment. Not really effectively or transient or higher frequency noise. Passive noise isolation (when NC is off) is okay. It\'s best when the proper sizing ear cups are used.SOUND QUALITY: Fidelity is pretty good. Clarity is very near what I get with by wired Sony noise cancelling earbuds (effectively the wired equivalent of this). I didn\'t realize how good it was until I bought a set of Sony SP-700N wireless earbuds. By comparison, those are low-res, have a narrower soundstage, and have overboosted bass. That\'s another review for another day.BUILD QUALITY: The construction is all plastic with no moisture sealing to speak of. In fact, that seems to be a very weak point. I\'ve used these for working out for a long time. Clipped to the collar of my shirt, sweat can get on it and seep into it. The headphones are removable from the body but there\'s no sealing near that port. So, sweat can seep in corrode the contacts. I\'ve had one of the die on me like that. BTW, the detached headphones work just like regular wired headphones (no noise cancelling, though). The seek/skip rotary switch has some play and feels vague. All the other switches and button feel solid. The clip on the back also feels solid and I do not at all worry about not properly gripping. As shipped, wires seem excessively long. Simple fix is to gently fold the excess back on itself and secure with a wrapped wire tie or tape.CONNECTIVITY: NFC makes it easy to pair with NFC enabled devices. Otherwise, use the standard Bluetooth pairing process. I have never have any problem with the signal cutting out. Audio/visual sync when watch videos is good. Slight delay (<0.5 seconds) between pressing start/stop button and response.OVERALL: Good, reliable, and high quality wireless headphone for most all uses. Beware of using in situations when it might get wet or sweaty as it lacks any appreciable weather sealing.
  • I purchased these to use with my iPhone 7 because of the lack of a headphone jack. These headphones are awesome! They block enough sound that I\'m not able to hear someone standing a foot away from me. I\'d have to take the ear piece out to hear. As another reviewer said, no instructions in English. Self explanatory on/off switch (with a hold option) and on/off for the noise cancellation. When you turn on the headset, hold down the play button until the light flashes blue meaning it\'s gone into pairing mode. Search for the headset on the device you want to pair, select it and you\'re good. The cord connecting to the right ear piece is longer than the left. I believe this is meant to go around the back of your neck as then it evens out. Very comfortable. Also comes with three different size earpieces. If you\'re thinking about buying these, don\'t hesitate, they\'re the best headphones I\'ve gotten in a long time.
  • 3rd purchase of NWBT 10 and 20. Excellent audio and noise cancelling for size. THEY MEAN IT when they say charge with phone, I pod (or PC) 0.5 Amp charging will give maximum life to the battery. Max 1 Amp.It\'s so densely packed excess heat will build up and destroy the life of the battery. My 2nd NWBT10N lasted 3 times longer being relatively careful with charging. If using a (smallish!) power pack charge it at the same time as your phone.
  • I really like them. The instructions are not in English but when I came back to look at the product in Amazon again, I noticed that other reviewers gave some tips. It\'s not difficult to pair the bluetooth. The only thing is, they don\'t hold the charge for very long.
  • I have always been a Sony guy - this is the first time in my life I\'ve bought a Sony product that I had problems with. Sometimes they worked perfect, other times, the sound would cut out intermittently. They had this problem when they were new and I would have returned them but didn\'t want to hassle with sending them back to Japan and waiting for another one. I regret that decision, because the problem got worse and I threw them away! I could never figure out what the problem was - seemed like it was a lose play button (which I never used), but then I wondered if other Bluetooth devices were causing the problem. I had the previous version (10NB), and never had this problem. Anyway, I threw them away and wasted $75.00.
  • My wife has the older version of these and loves them. I received my from Japan in 9 business days, very impressive. They work and sound great. The directions are in Japanese but having the previous version helped in setting them up. ( Turn on bluetooth on your device. Hold down the play button for several seconds on the earbud controller and the two items will pair.) Everything else on the headphones is in English.
  • Phone calls not enable
  • Headphones are perfect , Noise cancelling are really good , if you used the pair of headphones before on a SONY Z2 , you would know it has the same exact effect , nothing is wrong or bad about the headphones or the Bluetooth unit
