- My wife and I were looking at cell boosters for our Winnebago Solis van and had narrowed it down to the WeBoost and HiBoost. The HiBoost was being offered at a lower price, so we chose the RV version of the HiBoost. I mounted the outdoor antenna on an extendable painters pole and clamped the pole to a ladder on the back of our van. The antenna can be raised an additional 3-4\' when the van is stationary. The cable was an easy feed through the pop top on the van, then down to where I mounted the booster. The internal antenna is in the front of the van. We have good cell service at home, so we drove the van to some areas near Asheville, NC where we knew there was poor service. We did quite a few speed tests with the booster off, then on and were quite pleased with the results. In some instances where we had good cell service, turning the booster on decreased the download speed by a small amount, but it always increased the upload speed. Noah from tech support contacted me after the HiBoost was delivered and offered any assistance I needed in setting it up. I also joined the Facebook group and the admins and tech support are quick to answer questions. So far we are very pleased with our purchase.
- Installed this on a 25 foot travel trailer to boost Verizon cell service and cannot tell an appreciable difference when powered up/not powered up - signal stayed the same either way. If we got one bar before power, we got one bar after power. Tried several different locations for the internal antenna within the trailer with no perceivable boost to signal. Additionally, at last check, our newer phones did not work with the recommended app as it is not yet compatible with the latest bluetooth ver 5.2, so cannot tell what difference there is by moving the antenna/gain before and after numerically. We\'re considering a different external antenna, but not wanting to waste more time and money for an ineffective device. Would also need to consider a stronger mount as ours bends from road travel (air/wind will bend the aluminum bracket).YMMV depending on carrier/install parameters, but there are also other manufacturers out there to consider.Update 7/27/22 - after this review, HiBoost CS contacted me and offered a refund for the booster, which is greatly appreciated.
- I made the choice to purchase a signal booster when I wasnt able to get a descent signal at home due to my living in a canyon where the only internet available was by using your cell phone or a mobile wi-fi router, either way cell based data was all there was. Due to my signal being hit and miss, streaming anything, especially High Def Video, was near impossible.I did my due diligence as to what company I would give my hard earned dollar to, and in the end it was HiBoost that I decided to go with. This was for many reasons, their rating on Amazon, the fact that they had a lifetime Tech Support Team to assist in any questions or problems you may have, their price and product quality, the simplicity of their product, and a full three year warranty are just to name a few.Since making my purchase I\'ve learned a few things with my booster being in service now for almost a year, covering nine of the western states. Most of the time being used in the mountains and the remainder in the desert. The most impressive benefits of making this purchase was the performance of their product, whether in the Rocky Mountains or in the High Desert my HiBoost Cell signal booster worked every time.Then to my pleasant surprise the customer service is bar none the best I\'ve ever experienced in the over forty years of making retail or e-commerce purchases. My reason for saying this is based on three different individuals, the first being Selina who followed up on my purchase by sending me a letter of thanks along with all of the ways I could get in touch with the tech support.As I\'m a guy who can build or repair most anything I completed my installation with my reading only some of the instalation instructions. Even with that being the case, my signal did improve enough to make a difference. I just couldn\'t believe that it couldn\'t be better, so I sent an email to their tech support team to see if I wasn\'t doing something wrong.To my surprise I got an immediate response back asking me to provide a number where I could be reached. It wasn\'t more than thirty minutes later I received a call from one of their technicians by the name of Noah who gave me some great tips to maximize my signal gain. Providing me his number so I could call him if needed. I followed his suggestions and saw an even better result with them being implemented.I don\'t believe it was more than a month or two later when I received another tech support call from Aaron. He and Noah work together in tech support. I let him know that everything with my booster was working fine, and that their boss should give both of them a raise for the excellent job they were both doing in making sure that the customer was 100% satisfied with their purchase.Finally, somehow during my move to the State of Wyoming, I misplaced my exterior antenna. So I contacted tech support and reached Noah once again. After telling him of my situation, he surprised me a few days later by letting me know what the tracking number was for the exterior antenna he had shipped out at no charge.So I\'m not sure about you and the experiences you\'ve had when making purchases from vendors outside of Amazon, but based on the example set by HiBoost, I would recommend them to anyone needing to improve their cell signal at home or anywhere else.
- I have no doubt that the product works great for some. However, for me it did nothing. Without the booster my signal was 1 bar, sometimes 2, and data was very slow. With the booster on absolutely nothing changed. I tried multiple antenna locations too. Perhaps mine was defective, or perhaps I need a directional antenna for my location. I worked with customer support some too. Quality seems nice though.
- It did boost the signal but your phone needs to be right next to it. We Hotspot the roku stick from a phone while camping, and it works most of the time if the phone just lays next to it. Still a pretty low signal, but better than nothing.
- This unit is a must have for boondockers, we use to suffer for very low signal or even no signal in some places, with the HELP of Yoselin at customer service, she went above and beyond to help me out to set up our system. Yoselin was very patient with my ignorance, she answered all my questions and also advised me what apps to download to maximize our purchase. I highly recommend this HIBOOST BOOSTER.
