Crosley CR3110A-GY Octave Mid-Century Bluetooth Speaker with USB Phone Charger, Grey
- I\'ve owned a few different bluetooth speakers roughly this size and I must say this is - by far - the best of all of them. To be fair, my others - a JBL and a Klipsch - are battery-powered, but neither can match the clarity or the bass this little unit offers. On top of the amazing sound, the mid-century fabric and the gold dials give the speaker a very classy look. There are very few other bluetooth speakers - in any size or price-range - that offer individual bass and treble control, so that\'s easily one of the best benefits to purchasing this unit over others. The subwoofer adds richness to the bass while the speaker\'s treble control allows you to amplify the nuances of live music, R&B, Classical Spanish Guitar, Jazz etc. To put it to the test: if you throw on Texas Sun by Leon Bridges, turn it up a bit and close your eyes, you\'d swear you in a small club or bar in Austin watching him perform - It\'s that good! The only critique my wife and I have is that there\'s a strange delay of about 4 or 5 seconds in having the speaker connect to our phones via bluetooth. Other speakers we have connect almost instantly. Additionally, we have a very long living / dining area in our home and if the speaker is at one end and you\'re at the other the sound sometimes begins to break up a bit; so it\'s fair to say its bluetooth range isn\'t a strongpoint either. These are not persistent issues, however, and the clarity, richness and aesthetic of the speaker far outweigh any shortcomings.Even if this speaker was the most expensive in its class, I\'d still probably purchase it given what I know about it... so at a reduced $85 price point it\'s an absolute steal. My wife loves it so much she bought an additional one for her office and another for her father! I\'d easily pay $300-400 for this unit without complaint. One of the best things I\'ve ever purchased on Amazon!
- I have 2 Google Max systems in my home and needed a bluetooth speakers for my cabin. This unit is incredible! The sound quality is absolutely incredible! The bluetooth range is outstanding also.If you are looking for a bluetooth speaker that is reasonable in cost and packs a big punch, you cant go wrong with this one. VERY pleased!
- I am very pleased with this blue tooth speaker. I read a ton of reviews and decided that this fit my budget and the design aesthetic I was looking for, It has a great nostalgic look and feel. I love the design and the feel of the knobs. Adjusting the volume, treble and bass is wonderfully old old school instead of an using an App. The blue tooth connection was super easy and fast. There is a built in timer that is about 15 minutes I think. When the speaker is not in use it will disconnect. There is no battery. I repeat there is no battery. I knew this going in and I was not seeking portability. I wanted a speaker that sounded great and looked great in the living space. If there was one thing I would seek to improve in this speaker is louder volume. However using an I phone as the primary music source I knew the volume wouldn\'t be super loud. While using streaming services such as Pandora the volume gets a bump. I am super pleased with the initial couple of days using this and have had no problems. So while this might not get to the volume needed for a rave it is perfect for sitting in my favorite spot and listening to some great sound. Even at full volume the sound does not break down. The bass is solid and does not distort. The mid range and highs are very clear. Overall the sound is fantastic. It is a great addition to my living room
- Amazing sound quality, great looks and nice to have base/ treble control. Sounds better than speakers 3X the price I’ve had in the past.
- It looks great, actually sounds good on bt devices, but i used it on my turntable and it did not sound so loud.
- Beautiful package and great sound, when it was new. Although, did typically have to turn the bass all the way down and treble all the way up to be suitable for video calls. The Bluetooth connection goes into standby when not in use. Problematic to keep nudging it back to a connection repeatedly every day, especially when in a hurry to get on a call. And whe it misbehaves, you have to check the PC Audio selection, then the Settings/Bluetooth/Pair/Connect, then the Settings/Sound/Output/Device, then the Audio Advanced settings to check what Browser Audio Out selections have re-defaulted, then check which Video/Audio platform settings that have been altered. Google Meets, GoTo Meetings, Ciso Webex and Zoom, all of which I use; each has its own idea of what should be reset. Sometimes you can spend 10 or 15 minutes to troubleshoot while you\'re missing a meeting or just give up and phone in.ICING on the cake is that 7 or 8 months in and it started getting scratchy sounding and keeps surging over some theshold, with a sudden burst of volume and back and forth like that. When you regularly have 20 or 30 people on a video conference, each with their own delivery volume level - it was great that I could reach up and just turn a mechanical knob to adjust - until it doesn\'t work. What happened to long term quality? I have a 1940 GE Electric Clock that has always kept perfect time even now after 80 years! I would have had to buy 120 of these speakers to provide that length of service - or $12,000. I have tried connecting USB to bypass Bluetooth, no luck. Sorry Crosley, I hat throwing such a pretty package in the bin - you could have done so much better.
- This arrived promptly and works great. I thought I read it came with the cord to plug in rather than do bluetooth, but that wasn\'t the case. I gave it four stars because it\'s a pain to connect with bluetooth to my turntable and disconnects after a few minutes if I don\'t constantly play music. I had a Beats Pill before buying this speaker, and all I had to do was turn that on and it would connect immediately and stay connected until I turned it off. I wanted something that was stationary and looked better, so this fits that bill and the sound is great.
