HyperX Cloud Mix Buds - True Wireless Earbuds, Low Latency 2.4GHz Gaming Mode, Bluetooth Compatible, Long-Lasting Battery, 12mm Drivers, 3 Silicone Ear Tip Sizes, DTS Headphone:X
- It\'s hard to imagine being more disappointed with this entry into the earbuds market for HyperX. I am a HUGE proponent of their wired headsets and have sold many of them for them by referring them to all of my friends and work colleagues so it kills me to give such a negative review, but at this time I would have to strongly advise against ordering these earbuds.TLDR; Everything from unboxing to connection to switching between devices to headphone quality to microphone quality is sub-par and not a reflection of the quality I have come to expect from HyperX. For the first time in a LONG time I am returning the product because it just doesn\'t do what it says it will do effectively enough that I will ever use them.I was so excited to see this product coming on the market as during this time so many have transitioned to work from home the HyperX wired headsets (particularly the Cloud X) have become my go-to for minimizing background noise and maximizing effectiveness from a home office. That being said being on webcam with a very obviously gamer-focused headset with many of my clients was not really an option and so when the gardeners were outside my window or I had other background noise I had to choose between being on webcam, or being on video. I was extremely hopeful that these earbuds would solve that issue and provide at least bearable levels of audio quality, connection stability, and background noise minimization so I no longer had this conundrum. Unfortunately what I found was that not only did this product help towards my goals, it actually underperformed so severely that I am returning it.To hit on a few major areas of disappointment:Connection and Stability - One of the main features of this product is that you can effectively switch quickly between devices by switching from bluetooth connection to 2.4 ghz connection by long-pressing a button on a USB dongle plugged into your secondary device. Unfortunately the 2.4 ghz connection and stability is so poor that this feature might was well not exist at all. I am wearing the earphones less than 2.5 feet from the USB dongle, and cannot get consistent audio even when just listening to a podcast. In addition, the USB pairing process is not particularly user friendly or as quick as other BT connections. Initial setup was a bit frustrating. In terms of initial connection when pulling out the earbuds and putting them in, I often found that one (usually the left) would connect significantly faster than the right. This was usually only a few second delay, but occasionally they BOTH would seemingly not connect at all for about 10 seconds. In terms of switching between devices on BT vs. 2.4 ghz I actually found the process fairly usable, but it could be improved. To switch between devices you long-press the button on the USB dongle. As with all long-press getting used to how long to press the button is a bit tricky, but once you get that down you can switch farily easily. But with the 2.4 ghz connection being so poor as to be basically unusable these feature becomes moot. I wish it was more like some of the keyboards that just leverage multiple BT profiles and when you press a button it switches to the next BT device. Background Noise - This is where I was most hopeful, but also most disappointed. In trying these earbuds on a conference call with clients they said my audio quality was extremely poor, and could hear basically every noise I made in the background including putting down my coffee cup, moving my keyboard slightly on my desk etc. What is funny is I do think their expectations might be heightened as well specifically because of the GREAT quality of my wired HyperX Cloud Headset/Mic combo and the audio they are used to from me. I do use some competitor earbuds on occasion, and these do not compare in the slightest.Audio Quality - Even when the headset was not picking up background noise, voice recordings revealed that the quality of audio coming through the microphone is very poor. I have a very deep bassy voice and typically it sounds rich and full, but through this mic it sounds very broken and staticy. As far as the earphone quality, I would put it on par with medium-quality wired earbuds, but not comparable to the other wireless earbuds in the space.I wish I could have given this a longer trial period, but the unusability for business calls combined with dropouts and stutters in audio via the 2.4 connection mean that I can\'t even really bare to use these. Maybe if there is some sort of firmware update or enhancement in the future these would be usable? I\'m sorry HyperX I love your other products and have sold plenty for you through referrals, but this one is a flop.
- Comfortable enoughSound clearNo mic issuesFraction of the price of the more expensive earbuds. Not many features but they didn\'t advertise for more features, so that\'s fine.
- so i was kinda hoping that you could use the hyper x buds ear pieces that come on their wired version on these but unfortunate that\'s not the case that would make these like older air pods and be more comfortable for me which i suggest as a future thing as some peoples ears can\'t take these style of ear buds they slip out and fall out and if these don\'t sense they are in your ear well guess what they turn of or stop working on you mid game happened more than i would like to imagine so i went back to over ear headphones till i just got their biggest competitor the logitech g fit ear buds and i\'m sorry hyper x but those blew yours away the mold-able ear pieces the sound quality never disconnects i could be across my house upstairs 30 ft away and those still work these i got next room over and would disconnect. just no comparison the g fits beat these hands down but i would love to test a 2.0 if they make one with similar ear pieces to there hyper x wired buds series as i do love those and a 2.0 version like that with a softer silicone would feel amazing for people like me to wear that these style of earbuds just don\'t fit in out ears right no matter what ear size i use or different tips i used and i bought several to make these try to work
- I thought this would of been an endgame ear use for me. However, sadly it just ended up being a disappointment. For gaming the earbuds are fine, nothing incredible, the software is basic and the fit is decent for my ears. However, listening to music on this thing is where I have issue, the overall Bluetooth volume is incredibly low, and the Android app is incredibly basic. The earbud is so sensitive I would constantly play and pause it while moving around and even sometimes just relaxing in bed. For 150 pricetag I expected better, if these buds were maybe 99 dollars then I would recommend it, but not for 150.
- These things are awesome. The bass, and treble is astounding in such a small package. I work in CNC Machining so it\'s get pretty loud. They block out most of the machines chewing on metal.Update: I had to reduce these to 4/5 stars. After a while the earbuds would just randomly stop playing all audio while remained connected. Wouldn\'t play any sound until I put them back in the case and then out. They sound good. But the Ear Detection feature is bugged and is ruining the experience. The issue persists even when using the app to turn off that feature.
- Product works ok. My box was already opened and missing the ear tip extras. Other than that they work as intended a little weird on the connection but other wise fine.
- I was really excited for2.4ghz connection. Finally can use earbuds with PC. At first I was happy with the quality of sound and surround sound. Great for valorant. But after a few days I realized I hate that these things start and stop music/videos on ur PC. When you wear the earbuds it will start your video. It stops it when u take them out. Sounds convenient right? Well now imagine you\'re watching something and the earbud starts and stops the video 5 times a minute. I\'m not sure how it decides. But it just sucks sooooo bad. I wish I can disable the feature. Cause it is rage enducing. Stay away.
- The left earbud stopped working in less than 2 months, this appears to be a common issue in this model.Seller and amazon doesn\'t want to take any kind of responsability, also Hyperx warranty doesn\'t work since it was sold by a 3rd party instead of amazon.
