MEE audio Runaway 4.0 Bluetooth Stereo Wireless + Wired Headphones with Microphone (White)
- ***UPDATE***This company is amazing. I am well outside of my 1 year warranty and the top band snapped when I was putting the headphones on recently. I have an older generation and I use these headphones every day, so they take considerable wear and tear. Contacted Meelectronics and they sent me pretty much every component that could wear out that I can easily replace myself. Truly a company that backs its products. When I finally manage to wear this headset out completely, I will be purchasing another from Meelectronics without a second thought.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I can\'t say enough good about this headset. Purchased based on other customer reviews and I\'m glad I did! I won\'t usually purchase a brand that I\'ve never heard of before, however after a little research I discovered MEElectronics is a large player in the wireless audio playing field. Having been a DJ for 13 years starting on Vinyl, and a trained Studio Engineer, I expect a lot from anything that emits audio. The Pros:1. Com-for-table. At work I sit in front of a computer screen for hours at a time. I wear this headset for the entire time and I don\'t feel discomfort. Some headphones I\'ve used in the past will make the crown of my head ache after long exposure, not these! Also, the ear pads have a ton of cushion to add to the comfort level.2. Sync is a breeze, just hold the power button till you see a red and blue flash, discover it with your device, and sync. I\'ve never had to enter a pin code, however that may just be the devices I\'m using.3. Battery life = amazing. I can go days of extended use without having to recharge. They do take a while to get a full charge after dying, and they will annoy you to plug them in once they need a charge, however when starting from a full charge you can go a long time without plugging them in. Also, in the event you just have to listen to that next song, you can hard wire them with the included cable and it bypasses the Bluetooth feature completely.4. The side buttons are a great feature. Both the power button or the pickup/end call button will start/stop playback when listening to music. The advance or go back buttons are a big help as well, you don\'t have to wake your device when you find that track you have to hear over and over! Unfortunately (and this is a common theme among my Bluetooth headsets) the volume buttons only control the volume on the headset. I generally max out this feature and forget about it, using my device if I want to adjust the volume.5. The most important Pro is the SOUND!!! Bass response = yes. Treble = yes. Do they sound amazing = YES! I was surprised when I put these on and heard them for the first time. I had expected a lot of grainy, screechy sound to emerge from the headset like the first time I heard an MP3. The headset is (mostly) clear, and has great range. Not to say there isn\'t any interference from time to time, however I would take these over (almost) any of my wired headsets on a regular basis.*one thing to note about sound quality, it has a lot to do with your source. if you bake a cake with sour milk, the cake is going to come out sour. the same can be said for sound quality, if you listen to a poor source, the sound experience won\'t meet your expectations. The Cons:1. The headset has some discoloration after prolonged used. I choose not to purchase the black headset as other users mentioned that it had finger smudges, much like the screen on a smart device. I figured this would drive me crazy so I opted for the white, feeling it wouldn\'t have that problem. The texture on the headset absorbs dirt, and, where I touch it on a regular basis to put it on, has become a reddish color. I figure a good cleaning will fix this, however if you\'re a stickler for perfection it might drive you crazy (which is exactly what I was trying to avoid in the first place!)2. When using with my Android devices, I noticed a considerable delay (like 2 seconds) between screen touches and audio response. When used with my iPod touch that has Bluetooth 4.0, this delay didn\'t exist. I have recently upgraded my phone which now has Bluetooth 4.0, and my tablet which doesn\'t have Bluetooth 4.0, but is running the latest Android version, and this problem has gone away. I have no idea what caused it, however I wanted to mention it here as a forewarning. In the end, I rolled the dice on this product and ended up hitting the jackpot. Great price, great sound, more than I expected out of a manufacturer I\'ve never hear of makes this a 5 star product!
- Great set of wireless headphones for working out!I tried another pair of in-ear headphones first, but they died the first time out - Brainwavz BLU-100 Sport Bluetooth 4.0 APTX Headphones (NOT recommended).I use them while running and lifting weights. It helps if you have a hat on while lifting if lying flat, say, while doing bench press. They offer pretty good clamping pressure, but nothing severe. So, the head band might slip backwards a bit, etc., depending on head size. If you wear a hat, you can rest the headband on \"top\" {relative to lying flat} of the little button on top of your head to keep them from falling down. Works for me.About sweat: Everyone who plans on exercising with headphones is usually worried about sweat, I was too. My \"solution\" wasBlackcell Foam Pad Ear Cover 2-5/16\". I got them for dirt cheap here on Amazon and I put them over the ear pads to help \"catch\" sweat so it doesn\'t have penetrate too deeply into the pads. I am a HEAVY sweater and I\'ve been using these headphones with the foam covers for several weeks and they don\'t have ANY odor at all and don\'t pull in much sweat. I remove the foam covers after each workout. Takes a little practice to get them on, but they stay in place and they work well for me without cutting down on sound.Sound: I\'m not an audiophile, but appreciate good sound reproduction. These don\'t really disappoint. I prefer the sound from much higher end phones of course, but for working out, these are great. They don\'t get super loud, so for the max output keep the EQ off. I use them with my iPhone 5s and 6s - no issues. Really low base can get a tad cracked at max volume, but I\'m picking on them for no good reason really. Overall, I love them. Been listening to T.I., Adele, JT, you name it and they all sound pretty darn good.Features: Very solid battery life, imbedded (non-protruding) mic, volume up/down buttons, track skipping, pausing, etc. You also get a flat cord for use when you want to preserve battery. BT range is very good, better than the 30\' I\'ve seen advertised. I actually left my phone on the treadmill while listening to Audible and got about 70\' and out of site and couldn\'t figure out why the playback started to break up. Then I realized my phone wasn\'t on me. From my experience, you should easily be able to shoot hoops, play tennis, etc. as long as the phone has the latest BT and is in the open near by. I routinely walk 20-30\' away to put stuff in my bag, blow my nose, grab equipment cleaner, stretch, etc. with no breakup or quality loss. Exceptional given that I was using wired in-ear headphones a few months ago. Technology, for all it\'s potential problems and cost is remarkably helpful many times :)Pros:- Light weight- Great battery life (an hour a day or so easy for up to about two weeks or so)- Battery level is audible when dropping to a new tier (\"Battery High\", etc.)- Good sound quality- Works at a nice distance with little feedback problems - have used them up to 50 feet away in clean line of site with my 6s- Comes with a cable- Multi colors available- Comfortable- For me, they stay in place while running and working out (if propped on hat button while in non-vertical positions)- Fold down smaller- Affordable- Superb valueCons:- Charging time kind of slow- Max volume may not be loud enough for some- Delay in taking incoming calls - long pause in playback, then phone number calling is spoken in the headset, then slight delay in connecting- Phone call quality is decent, sometimes other end says volume seems low, but functional- On ear means not as much sound isolation (ambient incoming, your tunes outgoing) as over the earOverall, if you are looking for flawless sound reproduction, the most modern style or the most well-known logos (\"b\", etc.) then they might not appeal to you. But for all but the most demanding user, these are very, very good. I use these in the gym only and occasionally to finish a book section or something walking into the office. I like them enough that I might look at their over-ear version for flights/travel/\"serious\" listening. Hard to beat for the price IMO.
