- I purchased this for my 03 VW Passat. The stock stereo has a feature that allows you to turn on the radio with no key in the ignition. I got this wire harness specifically so I wouldn\'t lose that feature.While it doesn\'t work in the same way it did with the stock radio (I could turn it on or off once the key was removed with the on/off button), it does still work. It stays on when I remove the key. Once I open the door, the radio shuts off.I\'m very happy with this. It did near exactly as expected and was worth the money for me. Note: I didn\'t need all the wires it came with. It was made to use with the VWs that came with a Fender amplifier.
