Jaybird RUN XT True Wireless Headphones (Storm Grey/Glacier)
- I bought these because I finally wanted to make the jump into fully wireless headphones for when I go running and other workouts. The fit is very secure on my ears using the wingtip ear pieces. I don\'t feel like I have to use my hand to readjust them at all when doing cardio/running. The setup was easy with my iPhone and the Jaybird app is straightforward. I like how the app is used to adjust the equalizer settings and there are alot of preset equalizer settings to choose from.My first set I received was missing one of the earpieces I needed to fit my ears so I got an exchange through Amazon. I tried first asking Jaybird to just send me one little rubber earpiece but they said they didn\'t have any (what?!) and I should instead just exchange though Amazon. If your supply chain is that bad where you don\'t have the small accessories on hand, like little 10 cent ear pieces, maybe you should fix that, Jaybird. My replacement came with everything at least.I battled some Occlusion Effect issues at first because the silicon in-ear pieces I used in the beginning created TOO good of a seal of my inner ear which made for very good bass, but every footstep and heartbeat was a booming sound that gave me a headache. This happens when the earbud forms a complete seal around your ear canal and no air can vent out of your ear so the pressure changes in your ear sound like low frequency \"booms\". I rectified this by going with the next size down silicon ear piece and it provided enough venting to cancel out the effect. With doing this, I lost practically all the low end quality bass from the sound quality. However, I wanted these for working out and not for audiophile level music listening so that is a trade off I am okay with. Highs and mids are decent, but if you want audiophile sound, don\'t get wireless headphones.I sometimes get a disconnection in the left earbud for a second or two when working out but it\'s kinda typical for wireless earbuds when one connects to the other. Airpods probably don\'t have this issue but Airpods also are not sweatproof rated so I didn\'t want to risk $150 headphones getting damaged by sweat.
- Had no problems with these over the fall/winter/spring at about 3 runs per week. Good audio quality, solid build and good battery life. Very happy with the charging case and Bluetooth signal. My only issue is the claim that they are water / sweat proof. As the the hot muggy summer running days arrived they can at times turn off / stop transmitting due to lots of sweat / occasional splash of water making contact with the buds. In this state they won\'t respond to button control. This is not a submersion situation, just super sweaty long hair making contact. Does not always happen but has happened enough to doubt the water proof claim. They do continue to work after letting them dry (HVAC vent works well) and then fully charge. If one of the buds is not working, make sure its dry and charge both in the case while its connected to power until green.Update 2020-07Left bud became more unresponsive to the point where it would only turn on when opening the case, button not working and no led light feedback on bud. Then left bud stopped working entirely. Luckily under warranty and support responsive and helpful. Got replacement left bud within a couple of weeks from start of support interactions. Hopeful replacement performs better than original.Update 2020-09Now having issues with right ear bud. I\'m still under warranty so I\'m covered, but would not recommend these ear buds. Also, jaybirdsport.com is no longer selling this unit on their US site. To me that implies they are having wide spread issues with these ear buds in North America.
- Sound is not bad. The app lets you change the settings, but the base was never great. Stays in ear well. However, for me, they were extremely uncomfortable. I tried changing out the inserts, but they were either too big or too small. Other than that, it was a good product and I didn\'t have any issues with them cutting out. They were not a good fit for me however.
- For the cost of these I expected them to be fantastic. These headphones lose connection in the middle of my run or hike and then need to be paired with my phone again. This has happened every single time I used them. The left headphone also blew out completely 6 weeks after the purchase. I contacted the seller (Back Bay) via Amazon and it was agreed that that the set I received were defective. I was immediately sent replacement headphones complete with tracking information. Overall just a great experience!
- The ear buds fit great and once they connect, the sound is excellent.Switching between on and music, stop to answer phone, to reconnect, it takes too long.
- These are terrible. Now I want to like these, I really do. They fit well, look great and overall have seemingly nice build quality. The problems with them are simply unavoidable though; They sound horrendous. I\'m hoping I just got a dud pair but the constant static is overbearing. 150$ pairs of headphones should not sound this way, there is no excuse. On to the second biggest issue, every time I open the youtube app, the music would disconnect and reconnect every 3 seconds, for about 3 seconds. No matter what I did, how many times I power cycled these, they still did the same thing. I was really looking forward to these but alas they fell flat by a pretty large margin, and at this pricepoint, there is no excuse for these not being able to do the things you wanted them to do most.
- Good sound quality, no noise, not bad, but the price is a little expensive.
- I had the wired version of these for 5+ years and they were great. These are a bit quirky and takes one or two wearings to get used to but I really like them now for running. They fit snugly and sound great.
