- TL:DR Design is great. Audio quality is quite good. It feels solid. Few minor issues that I can live with. I\'m not an audiophile so I won\'t go into the ins and outs about it but I would say they are better than the Beats headphones you\'ll see people rockin in the subway. If you\'re looking to block EVERYTHING in your surroundings, it\'s going to depend on your sensitivity and the size of your ears. For example, I showed my wife these and she tried them on. I could not hear her or the running water at the sink. When she tried them on, she had a hard time getting a good seal with the ear cups on her ears and as such could still hear he water running. They do look good and are stylish. the left ear cup has a soft touch finish that is a bit velvety.Of the gripes I have with it, the interface on your right side is a bit finicky. You\'re supposed to be able to cover the interface with your palm and it is supposed to let you hear your surroundings by piping in what the mic pics up and amplifying it. That often is recognized as a two finger tap and pauses the music. You have to be very deliberate in the way you do the gesture to get it to work. Also the two finger tap to stop/start audio isn\'t always picked up so I end up having to do it over. These are things that I can live with but hope would be fixed with a firmware update (I doubt it will be as it\'s been out for a while now and you would think it\'s as dialed in as it can be).Continuing with the interface, they are supposed to have an on ear sensor that will pause the music when you take them off and play when you put them back on. I have had issues with that and question if either the sensor is defective or if it\'s just buggy (there is a setting in the app for it which you can turn on or off).As many of it\'s current competitors, it\'s using Micro USB to charge. I would hope if Libratone makes a V2, they will implement USB-C.The last thing I will mention is that the white/grey ones are very stylish but straight out of the box, there seems to have been some marks on the finish on the left ear cup. The velvety finish seems to be prone to light markings. You will only notice it if you look closely and it seems it might have been from wear from moving around. There is foam padding to preventing the headphones from moving side to side but nothing to prevent it from moving up and down during shipping (and you know packages are rarely handled with care).Overall, I\'m currently happy with the headphones and at the price I purchased them at (sub $150).I will add that all my comments are post firmware update and it is at the latest version available through the app.
- I want to thank these engineer\'s for creating a product that has improved my quality of life! With autism, I have an inability to process loud noise. Whenever I\'m around loud noise, it\'s like I\'m enduring an assault. It has been terrible for me since my neighbors started getting zero turn lawn-mowers. They hobby around on them for hours everyday. Even inside the house, I cannot evade this horrific, constant noise. I\'ve literally ruined expensive work projects because it. I\'ve tried Bose and Sony noise cancelling headphones. They helped. But, the \'cup\' design of the headphones let noise into the ear; it\'s a typical design: a foam pad with a hollow center. These are like cushions that sit directly over your \'earhole\'.Even without being turned on, they cut out a lot of noise. Turn the noise cancellation on the highest setting, and it is almost total silence. This is WITHOUT music. First time I tried it, I almost cried from the relief I felt from the mower noise. The other benefit is that by covering the ear instead of enclosing it, I don\'t notice any pressure change in my head--which is s huge plus. This means I can wear them for hours, without having an earache later.I\'m a petite female with a small head. The frame slides to adjust in size and is pretty good. If it would go a little smaller and tighter-- it would provide me TOTAL SILENCE. Please make these updates for us tiny people. Thank you!!!
- Just received these today and I can say they are very good. First, noise cancellation, I bought them to tamper down the noise from neighbors who don\'t seem to have any setting other than full blast when conversing with others. The sense of sound isolation is full and profound with these. The sound quality and detail is very good to my (non audiophile) ears. I wore them while washing a sink full of dishes and fell in love with Vivaldi all over again. And others don\'t have to hear my music. And no distortion. More expensive headphones with a higher level of audio quality would probably, I think, be lost on me. I will say the headphones take a little getting used to in terms of operation, for example you can\'t touch the side panels when you are adjusting the phones on your head because you can easily send your music off into another dimension and you have to go find it again. I will get used to this, as well as the other operations and buttons. They paired easily with my iPhone and iPad, and remain connected throughout the house. I am pleased with this purchase so far, and wish I had bought them long before now. My one complaint is that they don’t stay securely in place on my head and I have to adjust them frequently or risk having them slide off. And don’t think of wearing them lying down because they won’t stay on your head. One other thing, if you are using them with the cable for any reason, any movement or touching of the cable causes intrusive and annoying sound through the headphones.
