Sound BlasterX G6 (Grey)
- not bad but had random clicking and pops sounds in the background every so often... saw lots of reports of that online and no way to fix it other than to use the built in windows drivers.
- might buy a backup just because sound quality is soo good on my pc
- At church, sometimes the volume levels can be very low and sometimes the volume is higher. This equipment works very well to maintain quality of recording even at very low volume levels, and without any extra noise. We record directly in 32-bit signed short int PCM stereo 48k, and then use software to adjust the gain automatically for compression or normalization before converting into mp3. We do not use many great features on this sound card, because we do not need those features, but we definitely need the low-noise 32-bit capability. Another impressive feature is how it minimizes problems with clipping. When clipping a sine wave, the recording still appears as a sine wave without distortion. The equipment automatically reduces the gain or volume temporally when clipping takes place. This minimizes problems with the audio when clipping takes place, but it is still best never to clip.
- Three hours I was setting it up this thing is awesome definitely worth the money that we Bit the software sucks
- The front has a nice big volume dial that controls Windows\' master volume when plugged in. However, one major feature (and the reason I bought it) is the spdif/toslink fiber output, which connects to my Yamaha receiver. I got the unit, updated software, checked for firmware updates, and hooked it up to the optical out using the supplied cable, only to find my speakers blaringly loud and nearly bottomed out my reference drivers.Long story short, the volume dial is purely decorative when the unit is plugged into the optical output, and so is any volume dial on your keyboard or the volume dial on Windows. They don\'t do anything at all. Useless. I tried on two laptops (Windows 10 and Windows 11) and got the same issue. I even tried reverting to old firmware thinking maybe a firmware update caused the problem, and still nothing. This is a design flaw, and no it doesn\'t have to be that way. For 4 years, I used my PC motherboard\'s built in optical output and that worked perfectly. Prior to that I used a Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum and that also worked perfectly.Do a google search on \"Sound BlasterX G6 volume not working with optical output\" and you\'ll find this is a known issue that Creative has ignored, dating back at least two years now. If they haven\'t fixed it in 2 years, they won\'t be fixing it, so I returned it as defective for a refund.Reportedly, others that had this issue ended up buying the Sound Blaster X3 (superceded by the X4), which DOES work like it should, so I just bought that instead.
- Sounds amazing wanted a X7 glad I got this it works on my PS5 and PC perfect.
- SCOUT MODE DOES NOT WORK. This juice is not worth the squeeze...very cheap plastic as well as very cheap looking. The price is up due RGB lighting....period. If this is considered a DAC, it has to be the worst one on the market. And anyone can use the software without the equipment...so you are buying a plastic box that has light that changes colors. I would not recommend this for Hardcore gamers.
- Bad experiencethey send me an used and defective itemit\'s not works ,even turn it on.
