  • TL:DR - Best sub-$200 earbuds with great noise canceling, superb sound and better than Samsung Galaxy Buds in every way.I recently had my Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus (purchased fall 2020) finally stop working (thank you, planned obsolescence). In researching for new buds, I began looking outside Samsung as I\'ve always wanted to try the Sony buds, and the new Galaxy Buds Pro do not stay in my ears (I tried my sister\'s pair). Some YouTube reviews pitted the Sony buds against these, and I knew Senheiser to be a reputable audio brand so I decided to give them a shot. Also, the Sony\'s were almost 2 years old and hard to find, and the new version was over $200.First, noise canceling: I\'ve never used a pair of noise canceling anything before, so take what I\'m about to say with a few grains of salt. My test was to try it in my living room with a TV on normal listening volume, furnace running (mine is fairly noisy, enough to need to crank the TV up a few notches), and normal conversation happening in the kitchen about 15 feet away with no walls separating it. I couldn\'t hear the furnace at all, the conversation was like a whisper, and the TV was only slightly audible. It was like having it on level 3 or 4 above mute which would be completely inaudible with the furnace running. Now, it did not filter out any harsh or loud noises, like a dog barking or dishes clattering, but the passive isolation is good enough that it wasn\'t a big deal.Second, sound: Senheiser has a good reputation for a reason. I\'m a basshead who routinely listens to hip hop, heavy metal and some electronic music. As a former music major in college and amateur DJ, I also love to fiddle around with equalizers to find the perfect sound for me. Straight out the box with no EQ enabled, the bass is pretty flat and that worried me. But the mids and highs were excellent and FAR better than the Samsungs I used to have. Once I fired up my EQ app (Poweramp EQ on Android), my worries were gone. I was able to tune it so that the bass was like having 2 10-inch subwoofers in my ears without drowning out the rest of the music. I listen to a lot of podcasts as well, and they are excellent for voice-only content as well.Call Quality: Every time I\'ve had a phone call on these buds, no one has complained that I was inaudible in any way.Connection and Range: I can make it further and through more walls/obstructions than my old Galaxy Buds. They perform excellent, and only cut out after about 50 direct feet and 2 home floors comprised of wood, carpet and finally a brick wall on my back patio. The available APTx bluetooth codec makes latency nonexistent.Fit: I mentioned that the new Galaxy Buds didn\'t fit me, and that was due to me having a larger outer ear shape. The Buds Plus I had used a wing tip that held it in place, but the new ones do not have that. I used the standard medium-sized tips that were installed on the Senheiser buds, and due to their square shape and how deep they go into my ear canal, they fit like a glove. I can headbang to Orbit Culture until I\'m dizzy and sweaty and they won\'t budge.Verdict: you won\'t find a better pair of buds sub-$200 IMO, and if you don\'t find the sound to your liking, give a 3rd party EQ app (like Poweramp) a try before returning them.
  • Been abusing my ear buds for weeks now. I can say I enjoy them. A little expensive, but its a name brand more reputable than Apple. So thats a plus. I have a sennheiser headset I picked up from best buy that has been doing pretty well, so I gambled on these. The \"noise canceling\" works pretty well. There is a setting (in the app) to adjust a entire mess of settings. There is \"noise pass through\" that allows you to hear the surrounding world while listening to whatever it is you want to be listening to. A vital part of use in the city or walking around town. Situational awareness is the key to survival.I tried the bose variant of this ear bud design, it was a comfort issue there. These are comfy for most of the day, just don\'t wear something that will press on them. I found it uncomfortable. Also, the touch capabilities are suuuuper sensitive. If you have to adjust at all then you will change a setting or skip a song. Just the nature of the beast. You can wear them 1 at a time, so you can keep an ear free of music an what not. But, noise pass through is unavailable in that configuration. Overall I am pleased with this purchase. I would say anyone considering this should try it.
  • I swore I wouldn’t buy Sennheiser again as my TW2’s died left ear just went silent. Sennheiser wouldn’t warranty or even respond. Webpage for return of product down. Then I saw these for 80.They are a much better unit than the TW2. ANC is much improved. Lighter in the ear so more secure. Equalizer on the app. Louder. Now maybe they will last longer than a year this time.If you can get them at 80 it’s a steal but honestly these beat the TW2’s hands down.
  • I never write reviews so you know this has to be good!2 weeks ago I was at the gym walking on the treadmill and my hand caught the wire to my headphones and my phone and headphones fell on the treadmill and flew off the back. A few people witnessed and I thought to myself \"it\'s finally time to get wireless earbuds\".I spent countless days researching which earbuds to get and it was super overwhelming. But I narrowed priorities down to best sound quality and ANC.I went with these earbuds because I have over the ear headphones by Sennheiser and they are tremendous. So I expected great sound quality with these buds and that\'s exactly what I got! Right out of the box these sound amazing. I recommend the neutral preset or the dance preset. After realizing the sound quality was amazing and just what I expected from Sennheiser, it was time to try the gym. Walking on the treadmill with these earbuds I was blown away by the ANC!!! I have seen some reviews say its good and some say its bad... I reassure you its very good! ANC was a huge factor into buying earbuds for me because I have mild hearing loss from my time in the military. This ANC is so good now I do not need to turn my headphones up to drown out the outside noise and ultimately not damaging my hearing!Walking on the treadmill in a busy gym, I put the earbuds into transparency mode and then you can really see just how much sound around you is being taken away by the amazing ANC. (yes I know transparency mode magnifies the sounds around you but you still get a good idea of how many sounds there are).Even though these earbuds are kind of big, they are surprisingly light weight. the touch controls work great. I tried on multiple ear-tips that came with them and realized the standard medium size that came default was the best choice for me.The only downside which could be a killer for some... these are not extremely comfortable (sometimes). These things are big, but stay in my ear way better than I anticipated.. yet on the treadmill I found myself trying to readjust my right earbud after 30 mins of use. My left earbud felt perfect! it was in the right position and felt almost weightless in my ear and had a great fit/cover into my ear. I kept messing with my right earbud to try to get it the same until I just decided to take it out and continue walking without it. My left earbud kept playing music perfectly and that\'s a great feature to have if you don\'t want to use both. After 5 mins without my right ear bud, I put it back in and it felt great, just like my left ear felt and I finished my hour walk and was having a blast. I lost track of time and almost was late to get home and get ready for work I was just enjoying these ear buds so much, messing around with the EQ settings and switching genres of music.I think because I am not an avid ear bud user, my ears are still getting used to them and might get better wearing them for longer periods of time. But honestly all ear buds might feel this way for me.So that\'s the review, Sennheiser is a golden brand! These earbuds have AMAZING sound quality. They sound great out of the box and have a great sound stage for ear buds. I have had a blast with them. The only down side is comfortability with long use, which honestly, I don\'t think I would enjoy wearing any ear buds for a long period. I also go these ear buds for $130 on sale... for that price... it\'s a steal! You can never go wrong with Sennheiser sound!
