BASN Metalen PRO 4 Drivers in-Ear Monitors Headphones for Musicians, Noise Isolating Enhanced Bass Sound Earphones with CNC Metal Craft Shell, Wired Upgraded Detachable MMCX Cables(Coffee)
- I play bass guitar at church and was looking for some bass-heavy in ear monitors. I had to try several different kinds of tips, but once I got a good comfortable seal, these really came alive and they sound great. For me, it was a small triple-flange tip to get what I needed. The tips that came with the buds didn\'t fit me well at all.Bass is strong but not muddy while still allowing the mids and highs to come through clear. Isolation is also good with the right tips and I can hear myself very well. The ear wires are nice and stiff and fit snugly around the tops of my ears holding the buds in place well. I haven\'t used them enough to review durability, but so far I\'m very happy with these for the price.
- I purchased these to use as in-ear monitors when playing gigs with my band. The fit is very comfortable (You\'re given a selection is different size tips), sound is great and, best of all, the noise cancelling is superb. The included cable is braided, which allows for flexibility. You\'re also given a nice carrying case to hold everything. A very nice package indeed. There was mishap with the cable and, after contacting BASN, was quickly resolved. Thank you, Nancy, for providing such excellent customer service.
- (Update)For the first 2 weeks, I was a bit disappointed in these. I received my external DAC and perhaps because of that or \"burn-in\" the headphones are more pleasing. I cannot rate them over a 4 because the sound is not striking. It is certainly accurate and of hi-fi quality however, I did expect more extended powerful low end especially because of the \"2\" dynamic drivers. ARE THERE 1 or 2 dynamic drivers??? I do think cheaper price of just over 100$ is more appropriate. I also wish the had thrown a balanced 4 pole connector on the OFC silver cable. Not really a realistic proposition but would certainly make a difference. All in all i am more happy than disappointed and am glad I didn\'t send them back. It makes me wonder about the bassmasters which as supposedly of lower quality. I am, however, going to keep looking for that IEM with striking sound that i\'ve yet to hear.(Original)Being an trained Audio Engineer and amateur Producer, my lack of Headphones is downright strange. It\'s just not my preferred way to listen. Until now, I have had a handful of cheap off brand Headphones as well as a pair of 1More Triple Drivers costing around $100 . They were obviously good sound quality, but I r really amazed by the fidelity. I still remember the First time I hooked up a pair of powered pro Studio Monitors; Chills ran through my body and my life was literally changed forever. From that moment on, I\'ve been somewhat obsessed with the fine and often subjective differences in fidelity. My current setup is very lacking. I don\'t have a studio or really any kind of high end signal chain so I went from adjusting room acoustics, to starting over w/ the best headphones I could find. I do Stream MQA / tidal so my source is the only HiFi component in my chain. The 1More triple drivers were so just acceptable, that I wasn\'t going to go with another pair. I Found Basn Along with Mee and some IEM\'s from Sennheiser. The Basn Bmasters were right in my price range and from the sounds of the \"as good as $600\" reviews I assumed they would be decent step up from the 1More\'s. The Matalan\'s were advertised for about 70 more on Basn\'s website so I didn\'t even consider them. Because of the specs as well as my experience with tiers of audio fidelity I assumed the Metalens to be moving with a fine high end response that I couldnt yet afford. Then I found the Metalens were for sale on Amazon so after a couple hours, I went for them expecting to stumbled into another level of quality.Everything is relative and sound, especially, is subjective. I DONT CONSIDER THIS REVIEW FINISHED. I have an iFi dsd Black, in the mail, It offers a high level of fidelity, and it will be able to do the 2nd unfolding of the MQA files. That should give me a much clearer picture of just how good these Basn Metalen are. I suppose I was hoping for a more remarkable experience, perhaps hearing songs as if it were the first time. I surely expected this level of headphone to invoke far more emotion than they seem to and had I spend the full price on them I would be displeased. As I said before, I will wait for the DAC/Headphone Amp before having a final say on these headphones.I will note; for some reason there are 3 less sets of hear plugs than in the other Basn series. While the quality seems very strong, and the buds themselves are metal, they are quite understated and appear almost boring compared to the Colored BMasters. The matte finish and sharp edges could work to invoke a feeling of class and sleekness. However; this being my only real complaint thus far, the finish has already started to scrape off the edges and I have had these less than 1 week and almost never carried them in a manner where they might rub together. Not a good sign for the most expensive model in the Basn Collection.Stay tuned, I will be back in a week or so to update my findings.
- Good sound quality. I am happy)
- So far, these are great. They\'re a replacement for a very cheap $50 pair of UIEMs I bought a few years back that finally broke. Audio quality is what I expected it to be, I do wish there was more low end but that might be fixable. The build quality is solid, the case and cleaning tool are a nice touch, and the cables are great quality...However, the cables are my issue. Both are wire-moldable instead of pre-molded plastic sheathing. I absolutely despise wire-molded cables. I can never get them *just right* and would much prefer if these cables had pre-molded, flexible, plastic sheathing for around the ears. Now I find myself searching online to spend more money on new MMCX cables that will A) fit these IEMs, and B) have the pre-molded sheathing.
- These sound fantastic, very clear and even sound across nearly all frequencies. The very top end of treble can be a little sharp/piercing/sibilant, but it isn\'t overt or annoying enough to bother me (I get bothered by sound easily). These sound way way better than the Shure SE215, SE315, and SE425. I listed for hours with the same music testing Shure and BASN earbuds. Even the $40 BASN earbuds sound better than the SE425. I just wish that\'s all that mattered...CABLES are terrible. The fit is ok for me. They do work themselves out while singing, but have never fallen out. I just give them a wiggle push and they\'re solid again. If you have small ears this will be constant and annoying. The cord is where the problem is. The left ear continually cuts out. I can move the whole cable and it will stop, but I can\'t find where the problem actually is. These use the MMCX connection and it is solid. I\'ve disconnected it and reconnected it multiple times. I bent and moved the 3.5mm end multiple times and can\'t cause this issue or fix the issue temporarily. For this reason alone I can\'t recommend these or any BASN earbuds. I bought the BSinger, BMaster, and these. I also recommended them to a few people who were all getting earbuds for IEM use for singing and every pair of BASN earbuds has had connection issues. This would be great with the Shure MMCX cable.
- These are super comfortable and the sounds quality is great! I highly recommend for vocalists!
