  • Having a disastrous encounter with the Motorola H730 I purchased here at Amazon the day before and that being the first Motorola product I have had that was not great, I decided to give them another try, Motorola that is. I decided to re-review the reviews on the H730 and this one, the H720 and went with the H720 and am very happy. The H730 I got had a very bad echo for the person I was talking to and a low hiss on my side.Motorola Support: 5I called the support number in the manual and got someone in under a minute, I called using the H730 and she said, I am getting a real bad echo, sir, may I call you back on another number. I gave her my office number and then said that was the H730, after having me reset it and re-pairing it, we tried again and she said, it is not working right and to return it. The entire encounter was about 5 minutes, can\'t really ask for better support than that.OK on to the review – H720.Overall: 5One of the main \"features\" is that nothing sticks in your ear with this style headset, it rests very lightly against your ear and is more than loud enough not to need to be plugged into your ear, so for me, very comfortable. I use this with two phones, and Blackberry Curve 9300 and an old Motorola V3 and it paired effortlessly with both.Audio Quality: 5, and a big 5 at thatThe incoming speech is just fantastic compared to the 550 (very old) model I had, so loud I needed to bump the volume down several bumps to hit a good comfort level. I was in a Fast Food joint at lunch, it was packed and noisy so bump it up a notch and could hear clearly, still plenty of room to increase it if needed. On the outgoing, again, outstanding, while talking to a coworker while driving he said he would pop up to my office, I said I was in the car, he thought I was on a land line in the office. To be fair I was on a NJ highway in rush hour (which is pretty most all of the time here), think parking lot, to him it was clear and at a good volume.Noise Cancellation: 5Even though I was just crawling, I had the Air-Co on and in Camaro for which quiet is not a selling point, and it did a great job suppressing the constant noise like the AC fan noise and engine rumble, at least according to my co-worker. With the H720 there was no echo or detectable voice delay at all, using either of my phones and the person on the other end being cell or land.Usability: 5A small status light tells you all kinds of things, on/off, paired, on-call, on-mute, other phone getting a call and three levels of battery status, full, medium, and low, the H720 also has audio indicators for all of these things which is more practical since you don\'t have to take it off to get them, it is just various tones and beeps, most useful in letting you know what you did worked, like muting and un-muting, switching between calls, volume is at max or min, successful pairing and battery status. The H730 actually speaks all of these things to you, and it sounds really good on paper but to me was a little annoying and time consuming for it to give you its status every time you turn it on.Flip on to Answer -- This is a cool feature, once you have paired it the first time you can leave the headset off and when a call comes in you turn it on and it pairs and answers nearly as fast as when on and hitting the call button to take a call. This has that little gray boom that is the on/off switch, oddly, the mic is not at the end of it, so it is just an on/off switch. When you pull the ear ring out to put it on, it flips the boom open, very nice also.Battery Life: TBDI have only had this a day and the longest call just over an hour, and it was one for 4 hours with less than 2 hours total call time, once I use it more I will update the rating, but so far it is a 5Voice Command: 5The voice commands for calling totally hands free was pretty good, of course this is a feature your phone has to have, this headset just works with it, that said, another unit I had (different maker) would not work with my Motorola, this worked very well.So in every key measure for me the H720 met or exceeded my expectations and I can highly recommend it.
  • Everything works fine on this product so far
  • I have owned several bluetooth headsets but the Motorola H720 outdoes them all at a relatively low price.I have tried them on phones ranging from a Blackberry, a Galaxy S2, an I phone 5, and a Droid Razr MaXX HD. I have had a: Jawbone ERA:Spent 80 dollars on this little guy.Pros-*Others can hear you well**Volume is good**Average battery*Cons-*Crackles when you put your phone in your pocket often.**Sags on your ear over time (this could be because of my job), constantly repositioning**Controls are irritating. Touching the outside of the earpiece doesn\'t always activate it for answering or hanging up. You press and wait, nothing happens, you press again and then it dials someone or hangs up. No distinct volume controls. Only button is on the back**Not worth the price you pay*DO NOT BUYSamsung something or other:Bought this Samsung for $20 on Amazon. Been a good backup for the price.Pros-*It was cheap**Fit great on my ear. Didn\'t hurt my ear at all and was snug**I could hear everyone great on it**Controls were simple*Cons-*Poor mic. People can\'t hear me on it very well sometimes*Motorola HX-550Pros-*Great sound. could hear everyone**Great mic. Everyone could hear me**Nice controls. Had a button on top to hang up and answer and a flip piece in front to shut off the device**Great range, I could walk 60 feet away from my phone and it would still be connected**Price- was less than 40 dollars*Cons-*Fit. Ear was irritated after a couple hours and I had to reposition to hear people when in loud surroundings**Rubber ear grommet. Tore after a few weeks and had to buy replacements.Motorola H720I bought this earpiece after my Jawbone. I had the Motorola HX-550 for a few months but unfortunately its not water proof. I sent it back and tried the Jawbone ERA much to my disappointment. I put up with the Jawbone for awhile before I found this Motorola H720 online for 35 bucks. Never had an \'out of ear\' headset so was a bit skeptical, but for 35 dollars I thought I\'d give it a shot. Wow, was I surprised. Such a great headset for so little money. Great decision.Pros-*Great volume. Fantastic. VERY loud. Has volume buttons on the top and bottom of earpiece for control. Surprised the sound was so good for an earpiece that didn\'t actually fit in your ear**Good fit. Doesn\'t move around on your ear at all if positioned properly initially**Everyone can hear me. I have never had anyone say they couldn\'t hear me**Controls are excellent. Volume up and down on top and bottom of earpiece. Answer and end call button on outside of earpiece. Tap once to initiate voice activated dialing (on my phone)**Front flip piece to shut off headset when taken off of ear. No need to go into bluetooth settings to deactivate**Fits easily into pocket when taken off. Don\'t have to worry about rubber ear grommet or ear hook getting lost.*Battery life is above average*Cons-*When I initially got this earpiece, the way the hook folded to fit the headset snug against the ear, it pinched my ear a bit to where it hurt. I have gotten over that for the most part (took a couple weeks). I have very sensitive ears though. My father wears the same one and it doesn\'t bother him at all. I wear it now with no problems.I would definitely recommend the Motorola H720. I have had at least a dozen headsets, and the only ones that comes close is the Motorola HX-550, but after using this, I would never go back.
