  • The only negative is the DJI Go app. Every single video and photograph you take is saved in the DJI Go app. To acces them for editing in a third party app, you have to dump each photograph and video one at a time! Not only is this tedious, but it requires you to leave your phone tethered to the gimbal with Bluetooth on the entire time. This in turn completely drains the battery on your phone. This is totally unnecessary! I will NEVER use the DJI app for editing or posting, so I shouldn\'t be forced to use it. I use apps like iMovie and ProCam to do my post-editing, allow me to dump videos and pictures directly onto my phone!UPDATE-05/23/2017: The DJI app still needs a more user-friendly interface, but they updated it to where you can dump your pics and videos into your phone easily. I\'m still having serious battery drain issues on my iPhone 6 Plus only while using the DJI app, it lasts 2-3 times as long when using the native Apple camera app. I also am having serious lag/stuttering issues ONLY when using the DJI app, so it can\'t be a motor issue.
  • Everything was good for about 3 weeks, then the Y-axis gimbal stopped following my movements. So when I tilt the entire device up or down, the gimbal stays locked in a straight-ahead orientation. This is WITHOUT the trigger depressed. If I use the joystick, the gimbal will turn, but without the Y-axis gimbal auto-adjusting to my movements, I can respond way less effectively to any need to tilt up or down.EDIT: This used to be a 2-star rating, I have bumped it up to a 4-star. After talking with tech support, we finally determined that the issue was that Pitch Lock was enabled in the Gimbal settings in the DJI Go app. I don\'t remember turning it on, but anyway hope this helps anyone else.
  • One of the motors broke before the warranty was up. I sent it to DJI so they could inspect and repair it. I had to keep checking the repair status online because they were not sending me updates. After a couple weeks, I checked the status and all I saw was a quote to repair the motor for $80, when the gimbal and handle of the Osmo were still under warranty for 5 more months. I contacted support several times, and for 3-4 weeks they had no answers until finally they just said, \"upon the evaluation - it is a non-warranty. signs of wear on cover where pitch motor was riding on, damaged the roll motor in process.\" I asked for more details and they could not provide them unless I submitted ANOTHER dispute which would probably take at least another week. Verdict... I used the Osmo. I used it a handful of times, and I didn\'t drop, hit, or damage it. With that said, just add $80 to the price here, especially if you have an iphone Plus, because you might need to repair the motors at least once. To add to that, the app is unreliable and unusable for commercial work in my last experience. Crashed constantly so I just switched to Filmic Pro.
  • I bought this to use on cycling trips with an iPhone7 plus. The iPhone already has optical image stabilization, so the Osmo and the iPhone fight each other\'s effects creating some poor results. The DJI video app is getting better, but still is nowhere as good as the native camera apps. Video stutters, stops unexpectedly, etc. The extra features in the DJI app don\'t mean much if the video stutters. For action shots (which is why you want a gimbal) I regret the purchase. I found on the iPhone7 plus I can use the 2x zoom camera to get good video but that means I have to be even further ahead of my cycling buddies to cancel out the zoom effect and get good shots. Eventually I just got a used Nexus 6P to use instead. Even on that I use the stock android camera app since the DJI app crashes so much. The seller was great and we discussed several things on email promptly. The unit itself is durable and the battery lasts several hours of use. Video takes up a lot of space, so using your cellphone to record turns out to not be such a good idea. Caveat Emptor...
  • I traded this in for the more expensive OSMO+. I had an iPhone 7 with OIS (optical image stabilization). The stabilization function of the smartphone competed with the OSMO gimbaling system. DJI/Apple need to work out a way to turn-off OIS when using OSMO Mobile. The OSMO+ video was sharper and matched the video quality I get from my Phantom 3 Pro drone when clips from each source are combined in post-processing. Lastly, the OSMO+ case was of a much higher quality than the OSMO Mobile. If/When DJI/Apple provide updated software to make iPhone 7 compatible with OSMO Mobile, OSMO Mobile might be an acceptable lower cost option.
  • Features that I totally love-1-active tracking. If you love to vlog, you can set it to follow your face. Another reason to use this feature is if you\'re using to following your child playing games.2-Motion time lapse. You can set different anchor points for your time lapse to start or end.Features that I wish it had-1-Full 360 degree turn.2-the ability to charge my phone at the same time I\'m doing a time lapse.
  • I shoot a lot more videos than I write positive reviews about products. OSMO IS SIMPLY AMAZINGI can\'t wait for my iPhone7 ...... Speechless at what the OSMO does of for the price. My favorite feature is the tracking....undamn real. We live in magical times. You youngsters out there will never truly appreciate how much the world has advanced. If you have an iPhone and want to shoot incredibly smooth shots....this gets it done. The panning time-lapse feature...that alone is worth the price of admission. My favorite purchase this year...and I buy a lot of gear.
  • Definitely good gadget for stabilization photos and videos, nevertheless nobody told me (even in reviews) that this gadget needs your Iphone 7 without any protection case, why? the gadget needs to touch the cellphone directly. If you keep the case the app will report an error.
