  • Cosmetically:- Wooden corner damaged and hidden with furniture pen. I had to do further touch-up.- Finish is dull, but polishes up okay with polish and elbow grease.Sonically: - I\'m using this in a small kitchen, and the Three-II is more than adequate, and performs evenly at volumes that exceed my needs. - The mix is very mid-forward. So much so that Alexa sounds like she has a terrible head cold. In fact, it\'s bad enough that I would recommend against this unit if you listen to podcasts or news. - Dedicated tweeters would have helped immensely, though that would push the price out of reach. But the full-range speakers just can\'t provide the clarity needed to take this beyond being mediocre.- This is a stereo unit, though it\'s not really apparent unless you get really close to the speakers. In the 80\'s I had a Panasonic clock radio that was stereo, and at half the size, it was able to provide a broader stereo field. So much for progress.Functionality: - I use this with an Alexa dot. The Alexa app no longer includes EQ, so there\'s no way to improve the mix. bummer. - When streaming from my iphone via Bluetooth, Apple\'s EQ does help compensate for the challenges described above. But that\'s a lot less convenience than just saying Alexa, play LCD Soundsystem. (a pretty good artist to use to test the sound, btw) - Something weird: When A/B testing between iphone/bluetooth vs Alexa dot, there were times when both would be playing, which somehow reduced the overall volume substantially. This is not something you\'ll likely encounter unless you\'re really geeking out. And I was totally geeking out.Overall:I paid about $220, close to what I paid a decade ago for the Jawbone Big Jambox that the Three II replaced. At twice the size, it\'s not really an apples to apples replacement, but aside from the afore mentioned heavy midrange, it\'s an improvement from the Jambox. That said, if I\'d paid the full retail price that Klispsch lists on their website, I would have shipped it back immediately. The Three II just doesn\'t have any sparkle. This is my first exposure to Klipsch products, and I\'m pretty underwhelmed. I suspect they needed to make some tough compromises to compete with Marshall\'s line (which I have not heard). But it\'s not a great way to introduce the brand, and I\'ll probably not recommend this to anyone who really loves music.
  • This little box puts out a surprisingly rich deep sound. Its capacity for sheer loudness is driven by a booming subwoofer, which tends to overwhelm the mid- and treble range. As a result, while classical music sounds full and deep, spoken word (e.g. NPR, podcasts, etc) gets smothered under a booming bass-heavy output, almost like hearing a neighbor\'s loud radio through a wall or ceiling. Clearly the manufacturers wanted to claim a high-volume output, but at the cost of clarity. So now I listen happily to music on the Klipsch but rely on my iphone speaker for news and podcasts. Still worth it I guess, but I suspect the smaller Klispch One has more balanced sound at the expense of total gain.As for other features, I love the design and simplicity, but some key features are wonky. It has a convenient USB port on the back which can charge an iPhone. However, when the phone is plugged to both USB to charge and the aux cable for sound input, it creates electrical interference and ruins the sound. So, unless you want to use bluetooth, you can either charge your device or play music but not both at the same time. Also the device must be swtiched ON to charge the phone rather than having a passive pass-through power connection. These are silly and needless engineering oversights that could have been remedied with a little foresight on Kliupsch\'s part.Despite its quirks, the Three II delivers loud rich sound for music, so if that\'s your goal it\'s worth suffering the small stuff. But you are a spoken word person, or like machines that work without little hassles, best to look elsewhere.
  • It’s a great deal now on sale-sound wasn’t as smooth as the newer version however the wifi syncing is a nice feature. I didn’t need that so I went for the newer II version. These names are confusing Klipsch! But I’m pretty happy. A bit pricey at regular rate but it is a fine looking item which will fit into your decor if you have traditional or wood or antique type furnishing which was also a huge factor for me. It simply had a nice retro look to it as well as sound nice not too boomy not too much treble
  • This speaker sounds fantastic for what it is (a bluetooth speaker) I paired mine with a turntable, and listen directly without an intermediate amplifier. Sound is great, and the entire setup is simple and quick. I do wish the range was a little longer, but that may be the fault of the turntable. Sound quality is excellent, which is what is most important to me. Overall, an excellent value for money.
  • JUST AWESOME, JUST BUY IT
  • Useful
  • Listened to this for about a half an hour. It could well be the best sounding system that many people will ever hear, and it\'s great compared to some other offerings especially at this price. Seriously boomy at lower volumes.
