Westone AM Pro 10 Single-Driver Universal-Fit In-Ear Musicians’ Monitors with SLED Technology and Removable Twisted MMCX Audio Cable
- I was really worried that after spending about 4 times the money compared to the Mee audio I had before, it wouldn\'t deliver a full response signal as many have mentioned, being single driver and all. And I was bummed when I heard them the first time, just wearing them with the stock silicone earbuds. Then I remember someone commenting on another product, that a tight seal is critical for a good frequency response, and that lows will really surface once you achieve that. And boy they were so right. The orange tips are too big for my ears, so I tried the blue, which were good, but still not enough low response, then I moved to the reds, on which I was able to hear the whole thing. I was so happy, but a few minutes later, I felt a little discomfort, so I switched to the back tips, and that was the sweet spot. Of course this is a good thing, since not all ear canals are created equal, but is so good that Westone included so many different tip sizes and materials, so you can find the one that fits you completely.I\'m not saying that is a fully wide sound, with very details highs and lows, it a bit middle centric, but that is ok. I\'m a keyboard player, so it works for me. I can\'t imagine how the 20 or 30 would be.The ambience filter feature is amazing, It almost sounds like it was an active electronic system. With music on, you can\'t hear a thing around you, but once the music stops, you can faintly hear people talking around you, and they even believe you are not hearing a thing, but you are. This certainly sounds like magic.Yes, I\'m completely sold, and I\'ll happily recommend this to anyone.
- To give you some context, I play in a rock band, so my review is based on my experience in that setting.I have used in-ear monitors for years, but I’ve always had the same problem: I want to hear some of the stage sound in addition to my in-ear mix. The AM10 monitors provide just enough volume reduction to act like musicians plugs, but allow you to hear what’s happening on-stage. Personally, I have just my voice coming through my in-ear mix and adjust the volume to be comfortable with the stage sound. The quality of the build seems good, but I have only had them for a few weeks, so I cannot comment on the long-term durability of the AM10s.They ship with a large assortment of tip sizes in both foam and silicone cup designs. Finding the right size and style might take a bit of time, compring and testing a variety of options. My only real concern with these monitors is the claim that they have full-range response — the packaging even has a frequency chart that shows this amazing low-end response. In reality, they leave a little to be desired on the bass side. Since I am only using them to monitor my voice, this hasn’t been an issue, especially since they allow bass from the amps/monitors on stage to come through.Overall, for the price and performance, I think these are fantastic monitors. I would love to try out the higher-priced models with multiple drivers to see how much of a difference it makes, but I am totally satisfied with my purchase. If you want to hear your coice AND hear the stage sound and the crowd, these are definitely better than earphones that isolate and block out external sound.
- I was very excited to get these! I have a habit of taking my headphones out while I’m on stage. (I lead mostly kids in worship, so I want to be able to hear them to gauge their participation). I can’t hear them as loudly as I thought, but I can hear them better and I keep both ears in. Thank you for helping me keep my ears safe!!
- I play both guitar and bass as well as sing and was looking for something that gave me a bit more outside sound which the SLED design excels at. As a bass player, these took a lot of finessing to get a happy mix. Without a bass amp onstage the ports seemed to minimize the low end - also realize that these aren\'t 5-driver buds, so they arent necessarily engineered for big bass. Eventually I found a happy place with them, but my much cheaper multi driver bus moved into first place for bass dutyAs a guitar player and singer, however, these are great. As long as you arent looking for careful discernment in your low frequency instruments, these will give you what you need. If you sing at church and dislike the \'disconnected\' feeling that full-sealing buds give these might be just what you are looking for.Comfort-wise you couldn\'t ask for better, they came with plenty of silicon and foam tips so you can find the right size for your ears.
- These are my first in ear monitors, so I don\'t have anything to compare them to. While in transition I used some regular music headphones and compared to them, they are amazing. It took me a few times to find the right fit but now they fit great. I picked these over others I considered because of the ambient sound feature and I\'m really glad I did. For me it makes a big difference to hear what\'s coming through the monitor and the live sound. Just seeing the energy is nothing compared to being able to also hear it.
- I am a vocalist, newly using In-Ear-Monitors, and I really needed something that allowed me to feel less isolated but maintained a good sound quality. These have been great. They are really small and comfortable. It seems that mid frequencies may be more pronounced because vocals and lyrics on recordings are clearer with these than other devices. My own voice still has significant occlusion but with a little reverb in the mix these sound amazing compared to other In- Ear-Monitors. I believe the quality is also good enough to use them as personal earbuds for recreational listening.
- Worked as I wanted it to! Good value for the buck
- So far so good. The quality is just okay because not all the sounds are clear a little muddled. This is the lower end item.
