Dual Pro 15 Amp/Bank Professional Series 2 Bank Charger
- Awesome Product Keeps the Batteries Tip Top
- My 2nd one sold last one with boat. Really like it waterproof and being able to repair if need to. Never had a issue with them though. A most .
- Dual Pro makes the best chargers. I have a whole pile of broken chargers of other brands, this seems to be the brand that lasts and always charges batteries consistently.About the only limitation is also one of its strengths -- it\'s transformer based so it has the best electrical insulation you can get (think of lightning strikes etc), but it also means it needs a pretty good supply. It doesn\'t work well off inverters and it doesn\'t work well if the voltage is more than about 10% higher or lower than the nominal 120V. A high voltage causes it to overheat and shut down, a low voltage causes it to charge at a low rate.Other than that I have nothing bad to say about these. The major competing brand is NoCo , and I have had a few of them. They are lighter but I have had problems with their charging algorithm, which is claimed to be \"wicked smart\" but isn\'t -- once they go to the float stage they shut off completely and if there is a drain on the battery it will drain even though the charger is still connected and says the battery is full. The Dual Pros are smarter and actually keep the battery up.
- One channel went bad intermittently. OEM has not been helpful.
- Dual Pro has been the standard in on board charging systems for a long time. My 1997 Champion came with a 2 bank/10 amp and I still use it today after 16 years. The new models are even better and I can\'t believe how fast the 15 amp charges. The LED charging readout lets you know where you stand and what the condition of your batt is. The company is very responsive to any question and never hard to get a hold of....just first class all the way. Buy one you won\'t have to worry about ever getting another for a long time. Others may be less expensive but you can be sure they are not as well made.
- Bought this product and am very satisfied with it. Separate wires for separate batteries, which made it less confusing for me since I\'m no mechanic. Got it drenched wet and it is what it says it is, water proof. Charges the batteries quick...four to five hours the most. One downfall is that it\'s a bit bulky. Couldn\'t find a good hidden spot within the battery compartment. Had to settle mounting it next to the motor. Still five stars for its performance.
- I sent my 2 year old PS2 12v 2 bank 15 amp charger back to the factory to have it re-programmed for 12v LiFePo batteries. It worked fine with the flooded lead acid batteries that the boat was initially equipped with. It cost me $140 plus 2 way shipping. I had to keep calling to find out if it was finished as no one thought it important to notify me. Finally got it back and connected it to 2 brand new 12v 100AH LiFePo batteries. Neither bank was putting out 15 amps. Both were initially putting out about 12 amps at 13.4 volts and less than 11 amps at 13.5 volts after an hour. Not what I would call a lithium profile. The battery manufacturer specifies 14.6 volts initial charge voltage which appears to be around what most manufacturers call for. Even if we ignore the voltage why are both banks putting out a lot less current than they should? Did anyone test this thing before sending it back? Now I have a boat with a very expensive trolling motor acting as a paper weight. After more than 2 hours of charging the LEDs show no progress. You can probably guess how this saga will end. Let\'s see...let\'s blame the BMS first.
- I have one already and love it. I bought a second one just for the starting battery. Am using both banks, 30amps total, to charge it.For those of you who already have one be aware that the mounting configuration has changed.
