Sony XDPMU110 Digital Link Sound System (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

  • I have this system hooked up to polk db series speakers and it makes it entirely too bass heavy. And not good bass, bad, resonant bass.I am currently looking for a new amp. Also, if you are trying to use one of those bluetooth adapters on the i-cradle... forget it. It will not work. The cradle needs to recognize that it is connected to a \"smart\" device. Sony could have at least made some other way to input sound for those of us that upgrade to the iPhone 5.
  • Like the lead in first sentence said, that\'s what I expected not knowing that copy was written for XMAS 2011 and not intended for iPhone 5 users a full year later. So wuddaya want for $179...compatibility? Fuggetaboutit! Its a boat anchor!
  • I\'m loving this setup. The sound is clean and tight.
  • Love it
  • If you see this product elsewhere from a catalog, then you see a bunch of reviews stating that this system is easy to install, then you need to know that the reviews were written so to get unsuspected buyers to buy this product thinking it can be installed as DIY job. Folks, this product is NOT for DIY installation period. After i bought this product, it took me several days just to fingure out the diagram, then i had to learn my car sound system, then somehow after study the instruction like i was taking an electrical engineering final exam, i finally finished the installation and passed the exam. If you want to give yourself a challenging task in automobile electronics, go ahead, buy this product. However, once you are done, assuming your wife and kids had not left u because you spent so much time on installing some electronic in your car, then you will finally get to enjoy it. It did make my sound system more cripy in tone, and radio did sound much better... and I have a becker system with harmen amp so system was already very good to start off with. Folks, buy this product elsewhere if you want to feel like you are in engineearing school again duing a final exam project... but when you get your A for grade, then you wll have a big smile on your face... trust me. I did.
  • This unit was the perfect solution to adding better sound in my 1965 Mustang. If you have an older, non-functional head unit, this system will allow you to retain the look of the period correct headunit, while running all the sound through this set-up (without even connecting the head unit). As it is, I have a modern reproduction head unit that has a 3.5mm jack for hooking up music sources. This is key, because I can hook up Pandora through my Android (since Pandora arrived, I really don\'t listen to my iPods anymore anyway). The Sony sound processor does a great job of producing crisp sound from bass to treble. The controllable sub does a fabulous job at adding bottom end, and my Alpine speakers enjoy the power from the 75w amp- which is the brains of this system. Installation was particularly easy- because in an older car the wiring is far more accessible- but this should be fairly easy to install for anyone who has ever done any kind of car audio modification (if you\'ve never even changed a speaker or head unit, you might consider having someone install this).Anyway, great system- especially at the discontinued price!
  • I chose this system because it was advertised on Crutchfield. I had it installed at Best Buy in Mesa, AZ, and they did a great job. Very professional installation. This system rocks! I use Android Pandora/Bluetooth through my new Honda Accord. It works very well, and even though I had the Ipod interface put into my glove box, the remote control works well, as long as I have the glove box open!!:) The dynamic range is greatly increased, and the bass is solid. All music sounds better, and I am using the factory speakers! This is a good buy, considering all that I received: amplifier, DSP, and subwoofer. **Not for multi-amp systems, like Audi, Cadillac, etc.
  • My Sonata is a 6 speaker system. Sound stage is greatly improved with added bass. I am really impressed with the sound. I never plugged in my Iphone because i am all android so i don\'t care. Sound from the factory audio is greatly improved. Basically you get what you pay for and this is a good bang for the buck. Now, audiophile quality comes only at an expense so don\'t expect top notch high end sound quality.
