- I am an \"audiophile\" wannabe - aaaand on a budget. I haven\'t developed the ear to pick up on nuances that others can, but as a musician, I do listen carefully. I\'ve owned a few pairs of headphones that don\'t fall into the Beats by Dre category, but take my limited observations with a grain of salt. I\'m not particular about appearances so long as the headphones sound good, so I\'m just going to mention what I heard. These are pretty good if not great sounding cans with some caveats below. The bass is well balanced with the rest of the spectrum, but for my purposes lacks a bit of impact - those big bass drops are there, but are somewhat unfulfilling. These are neither analytical and bright, nor terribly \"fun\" and tuned for casual listening - they do sound a bit warm though. Nothing really stands out as too present or too featured, but I did notice they can be quite sibilant at times where I expected them to be (certain bands have consistently more / less sibilant vocalists or mixes). The main problem is that the clamp force (how tightly the ear cups press against your head and ears) is waaaay too low. So low, in fact, that it dramatically impacts the overall sound of the headphones. Simply pressing the ear cups against my head improved the sound so much that pretty much every aspect seemed about 20% better. Maybe not much, but enough to make me wonder why these headphones were designed this way (maybe my head shape isn\'t the intended audience, but others have complained of the same thing on other websites). Ultimately, this is why I ended up returning them. The best suggestion I could find that seemed to work for that person was to bend parts of the headphone with pliers and such, but I don\'t like to permanently and irreversibly modify my headphones. I did try wearing a headband that fit around the yokes and this helped, but eventually the pressure of the headband on my forehead or jaw, depending on how I wore it, became uncomfortable and distracting. If you don\'t mind swapping out the ear pads for something that might bring a bit more clamping power or outright bending the head band and ear cup yokes, then these are actually pretty good sounding overall if you want a balanced pair. Get them on sale or used
- Didn\'t expect to like these so much after the mixed reviews, but they\'re now my favorite headphones, even over my more expensive 560s.More comfortable, better built, and the sound is a bit more fun.Reasons well with EQ.Amazing for gaming due to the crazy wide sound stage.
- I have no qualms with this Headset. It isn\'t EXPLICITLY for Gaming, since it doesn\'t come with an accessible Microphone, but the professional quality implies you\'ll already be using an external Gaming/Streaming mic anyway. The audio in music comes across great, a full and round sound that is crisp and warm. For the price it is certainly worth it. The materials used are great (protein leather, metal, large drivers).~NOTE OF CAUTION!~There is NO on-board volume dial. Only PC access for that w/o AMP.This headset is quite large/loose on small heads. It unfortunately doesn\'t fit me well and the frame feels heavy on your head after an hour.
