    • I have Chord Mojo, Fiio X7 with AM1 and Onkyo DX1. PHA-2 drive my HE400i and AKG K812.PHA-2 has a good warmth compared to Mojo, slightly v shaped and highs does not resolve as well as Mojo, Fiio or Onkyo. However for bright HP like AKG K812 it is a good match. Even for HE400i I quite like it. This thing could drive He400i and AKGs well too.I had no problem so far with my laptop and via USB audio Pro with Note 3 and Sony Z3 compactWith such a good price (I paid US$200) this is something that I could keep as spare unit
    • I have the Fiio E17 and E18 and the PHA-2 blows them out of the water in terms of pure quality - built and sound wise (though the Fiios are good value at a fraction of the price of the PHA-2). This little amp sounds stellar with my AKG K3003 and Shure SE846 & 1840.I\'ve used Windows 8.1 with the downloaded driver and J River to play DSD native files (DSD 64). On my Mac I use Audirvana Plus - setting to DoP works fine. (I also downloaded & installed Sony\'s own hi-res player app but could not get it to work on Mac OS X 10.9.3).Fantastic little gadget.Update: I can confirm that it does NOT work with my 2 Android devices: Samsung Note3 (rooted) or Note Pro 12.2 (Stock). Even using the trial version of \"USB Audio Pro\" player - no luck. Maybe a firmware update from Sony will fix this?
    • Have had this a little while now and am happy I got it. Been listening to my music collection stored on my iPhone 4s with a pair of Sennheiser HD 650 headphones. I was sceptical about how much better the sound would be when using the Sony PHA-2 amp but now know there is a definite improvement. Not sure how the battery life is yet as I have not done a 7 hour session from full charge test. The battery level indicator seems to be a bit off, as one moment after listening for a few hours it will still indicate that I have full charge and then in the next hour it will be flat.
    • With the collective knowledge that went into constructing this, why would anyone at the supposed \"finished stage\" agree to introduce this to the general public with such a CRAPPY, and I mean CRAPPY, power supply? The technology is there to manufacture it! And why? did they choose to NOT allow charging while the unit is in use, and with a battery that cannot be replaced when it\'s spent? OMG what a waste! Great sound, but do they really think we all have $600 on hand to buy another after it\'s short lifespan? I get a MAXIMUM of 1.5 hours of use before it drains my IPOD, and the battery in that is NEW! So on long flights you\'ll have to wait a painfully long time for it to recharge before using again and anywhere that charging isn\'t available, forget it. Could have been a great product but they really screwed up.addendum: after 1 month of normal listening (never dropped it or bumped it) there is a short in the USB port of the unit so the sound drops out for 30seconds at a clip when there is the slightest movement in the cable . After wasting $500.00, this makes me very, very reluctant to ever buy anything directly from Japan because the warranty is NOT honored.
    • Listening to it right now streaming DSD files, it\'s awesome. Love the rubber bands that come with it hooks from the PHA-2 over my I Phone right back to the amp it\'s got ridges that hold the bands. Blood Sweat and Tears in DSD awesome sounds, paired with the Shure SE-846 IEM I\'m now in heaven when I\'m doing my hemodialysis. Also tried this amp/dac with the Fostex TH-600 it gave me a detailed yet mellow sound, I could pick out the instruments and the soundstage was great.
    • Work like a charm with apple ipod touch 5 and the standard cable for charging.Work great too on PC Under Windows 7 (32 or 64). Able to read DSD file in kernel streaming with foobar2000.The only bad thing, is not able to charge battery during the use of Sony PHA-2.
    • Excellent condition and ship time. Well done!! Best part, it plays DSD! Sounds amazing. I am marching this up with sony\'s new nzx-1 player
    • This amp/dac rocks. makes my iPod classic sound much better.
