As the title says, doubtful; but after connecting the cable Boom! A hi quality sound said hello to my ears. Confortable, really great sound (I’ve tested with .MQA, .MQS, .DSD, .SAC, 24/96, .FLAC and some other audio formats, the quality can be noticed without doubt. I’ve tried on my MacBook, my Onkyo DP-X1 DAC and compared with my Pioneer’s SE-CH9T and it’s not a big difference (taking into account the SE-CH9T are iEM’s and NC is a major here). I can continue, but I encourage you to buy a pair, I hesitated just like you; read tons of reviews, watched unboxing-comparing videos and finally I made up my mind. Superb earphones. Delivery was lightning speed and pretty well packed and presented.
These are my go to hi-res headphones. Fantastic! Beautiful build quality, quiet and comfortable fit. Very nice cables, these are twist locking cables, one review stated the cables fell out, this will happen if you don\'t twist lock them. These are to me halfway between over ear and on ear, i wear them with the bottom of my lobe inside, and the top of my ear under.
fits over the ears better than most, plus my wife uses them because she is always on her cellphone,
I absolutely love this Hi-Res Audio Headphone. These cans are an amazing option for a audiophile who wants great sound quality at a great price. I have always been and ALWAYS will be a dedicated fan of Pioneer. I still own countless Pioneer products from ELITE branded AV Receivers, Blu-ray Players, Dolby Atmos Speakers, and LaserDisc players and I am so proud of finally adding these headphones to my collection. This headphone has a very classy look (it does get noticed and complimented on) and sound quality that is way beyond what other cans even at way higher $$$ amounts can offer. I am IN LOVE with these headphones!!!!

Yes Good sound quality
After hearing SE-CH9T IEM\'s I had high expectations. I don\'t know if they are defective, but the music becomes \"muddied\" & distorted at higher listening levels. I made it through \"Piano Man\" and \"No Quarter\" when the top of my head & ears became too sore. I had to take them off. Not happy with this, I must return it.
