Smith Aleck Wireless Audio Kit Black OS
- The funny thing is, the best helmet speakers I ever had were from my burton helmet about 15 years ago. They were pro quality headphones with plenty of bass and loudness. Since then, I haven\'t found an option that even comes close. To give you some background, I am an audiophile and love music. I like the convenience of helmet speakers, but am not willing to sacrifice sound quality, or the ability to actually hear my music at speed, for that convenience. I\'ve been snowboarding for over 20 years, and a big part of my enjoyment comes from listening to music whilst shredding the gnar.I\'ve tried the other options out there, and thought they were pretty bad, so was excited to see these emerge. I gave them a shot, and realized the first day that there was no improvement over the other options. They are about equal in quality to the outdoor tech chips, which isn\'t saying a lot. The audio quality is decent at low volume, but I\'m getting bass distortion at about 70% volume on my iphone, which is pretty sad. Even at 100% volume (with horrible distortion), these aren\'t nearly loud enough to penetrate the helmet earpads if you are at all moving. If you aren\'t a total Jerry, and plan on hearing your tunes at speeds over 3mph, you will need to modify your earpads to allow you to place the speakers on the inside of the foam. This makes them much less comfortable, but much louder.Overall, this is another failed execution. There is a huge opportunity here for a company that wants to step up and make a product with sufficient volume and audio quality. All in all, these, and the options out there, are about the equivalent of putting a couple of Hit Clips in your helmet. Best audio quality for the same price is going to be the bose soundsports, but unfortunately they are extremely uncomfortable under a helmet.
- I have so many \"close to the ear\" listening devices it is a little ridiculous. I ride motorcycles quite a bit so I have spent some serious time with audio systems inside helmets. Like many people, the sound quality just seems to never be good enough. But not with these. Set up and install was easy. They are a little tight getting into the ear pocket, but it is not a big deal. The sound quality is awesome. I have a galaxy 10+ and I had the volume at 60-70% before it was too loud. I didn\'t notice any distortion in the sound at all. Absolutely no connectivity issues. I used my phone on the lift and while boarding down the mountain and much to my disbelief the people on the other end said the call sounded totally normal. I was very surprised considering there is no separate mic. I\'ll test out the person to person coms soon and post an update. Very high quality item. You get what you pay for.
- The sound quality is terrible, they’re are really quiet, and they are uncomfortable and hurt my ears. Yeah m going to return these and go back to ear buds.
- does what its supposed too , but poor sound not loud at all . phone speaker is louder
- I was stoked when I got these but after using them for two months im very disappointed considering the price. They are very uncomfortable and hurt your ear. To top it all off, they aren’t loud at all. I could buy 10 dollar headphones at a gas station that are louder. Bunch of thieves if you ask me. Make it look nice on the outside but the tech inside is trash. Don’t bother. Just get some beats. Will be going back to using mine. What a waste of money.
- Trash and no return policy !
- I got one of these as a gift. The walkie talkie mode requires WiFi, which makes them pretty useless on the mountain
