• This is a great concept. You\'ve got a phone that you only pay for once and can use forever. When you receive it, you charge the battery using a \"dummy\" phone for about 8 hours. Put the battery back in the real phone, which is tethered to the case, and you are all set. You don\'t have to do anything to register it on the cell network. The battery is supposed to last in standby mode, and being trickle charged by a construction quality 9 volt, for at least a year. There is a back up 9 volt that you can plug the phone into if you\'ve let it go too long. That will give it enough power to make your emergency call. It also works on the Verizon network, so if you have good coverage from Verizon, you should be good to go.Unfortunately, I did not have good enough coverage and had to return the phones. That said, the company was terrific about it. They offered me an alternative phone that works a little differently, or a full refund at my discretion. I was impressed. The support was very good.I say try it. It might just save someone\'s life.
• If using this in a public place there needs to be directions on the outside of the box; I made my own. Why? Because people are too curious, they break into the box to see what is inside. If you show them what is inside with pictures on the outside then it\'s fine. The whole thing is a little \"hokey\" but short of having a hard-wired phone it\'s good and was well thought out.
• Using for our pool. Will see how it holds up. Giving a 5 star as it is what we need and so far operates as described.

• Our HOA uses two sets at each pool, one inside and one outside the fence. Six units total; there have been no problems with them. An excellent product at a reasonable price. Highly recommend for anywhere there isn\'t a safely convenient land line.
