  • June 15, 2017: Adding some info at the top of my review. For owners of aluminum body vehicles, like me (2015 F150), see my picture below of the 24 gauge paintlock (pre-primed steel sheet) that I Gorilla taped with permanent double-sided tape to the roof of my truck. I get the same signal boost that I got when the antenna was on my 2011 truck (steel body). I\'ve been on the interstate at 80 miles per hour with no problem. I mounted it a little more toward the back where the roof is very flat and out of the wind stream. The paint isn\'t a great match, but you can\'t see the metal unless you get in the back of the truck (which is where the picture was taken from). I suppose semi-truck drivers will get a good look at it. I\'ll report back if any problems arise...I have owned various boosters over the years, starting with a hard-wired wilson one that had to be plugged into a port on the phone. After that one died (and most phones no longer had ports anyway), I got the \"sleek\" cradle booster. It worked pretty well, but as phones got larger, the small size did not accommodate them as well. My sleek lasted a few years (not nearly as long as the original wired amp) and also died. I looked at the newer offerings and considered the 4G-M and 4G-X units, but decided to save the money and go cradle type again. The We Boost unit is slightly larger than the old sleek, but most of the phones people use today have gotten really big, so it would have been smart to make the cradle even larger than it is. And I do have a much bigger complaint, as well as a suggestion for the manufacturer. On the next generation of cradle, make the bottom pegs adjustable in length to accommodate tall smartphones. I had to cut them off so I could slide the phone down where the internal antenna would be in the right place. I only got a slight improvement in signal until I moved the phone down so that the top of the phone was even with the top of the cradle. I now get a nice boost, but it forced me to make my own bottom piece to rest the bottom of the phone on, and to keep it from sliding out. A piece of sheet metal bent at an angle, trimmed in the center for access to the charger port, did the trick. I had to tape it to the cradle to avoid drilling and putting screws into the plastic. Adjustable/extendable arms on the bottom would have made such modification unnecessary. The phone now sits close to an inch lower than it did before trimming off the pegs. After reading many of the questions and comments for this product, and also several reviews where the reviewers said theirs did not work, I\'m convinced that had they been able to move the phone lower in the cradle, they likely would have seen the signal gain they were hoping for. Please fix this guys!!I tried the little stubby magnet mount antenna that came with it, but ultimately used the taller magnet mount I had used with the old sleek, since I got 1db better signal with it, and the cable was already routed through my pickup to the dash. I\'ll keep the shorty for use on my other car if I go on a long trip, or just save it in case the other one breaks or stops working.I am happy to have the good signal improvement once again, but have taken off a star for the lack of adjustabilty, and for the need to cut off parts and tape stuff to it to get it to work right. Almost ought to take off 2...it was a pain and wasted a lot of time figuring out what to do with it, and it doesn\'t look as good as it could with the obvious home-grown mods done to it. I may take a little more time later to try and come up with a better solution. Hopefully by the time I need another one, someone will have designed it better. It does what it says it will, as long as your phone fits in there properly, and sits in the right place.Added info, May 3, 2017: Go to google play store or apple app store and install a signal display app. I am using one called \"Network Cell Info Lite\" that has a gauge readout on your screen with a fairly fast refresh rate to give you your signal strength in real time. Really helps you figure out were to place the phone in the cradle for the best gains. And it\'s kind of fun to drive with it turned on so you can watch the changes as you drive. I also got a new phone. It\'s a Samsung Galaxy S8, and it sits even taller than my old Motorola phone did. I made a new metal bracket for it, and it now sits around and inch and a half below where the cradle\'s pegs would have stopped it. A re-design of the bottom of the unit is badly needed. Get with it, Wilson!
  • After 4 years of travel Camping in our RV, it was time for an upgrade! We travel a lot with our RV in tow. More often then not, staying at locations will poor cell service or NO cell service at all. Every year we enjoy at least 35 days at parks that have ZERO cell signal unless you complete a 45 minute hike up the mountain or drive 25 minutes. I found myself hiking at least 3 times daily to gain signal and get some work done. Good for health, not good just to send a quick email. I was almost going to skip the trip this year due to work constraints.I figured this was the year to see if a signal booster could help. I spoke with many other RVer\'s and campers, all of which had NO service. One RV did have a signal booster from another company and complained how he can barely get service, ONE BAR if he is lucky using his booster.Three days after receiving this weBoost Drive, we were on our way to \"dead cell zone of North America\". I decided to use it in the car then move it to the Travel Trailer when we arrived. Normally we loose cell service many times on the way, then all service goes dead 2 miles from camping area. Our 8 hour drive was a good test of this device in the car, we NEVER lost signal. Even in the areas through the mountains we normally drop for 10-30 minutes at a time, we had very good signal strength. This device delivered signal in the car and all the way to our camp site with only 2 drops in cell service as we entered a mountain range and still had 1 bar signal in Jeep at camp site. Now the true test, and see if this little booster could deliver signal in the RV. I plugged it in, wired the antenna to a high spot on the roof. Low and behold, I had 1 Bar of signal. Tried to make a call, no dice. I tried moving the antenna and was able to find a better spot on the roof that gave my phone a much better signal 2-3 bars 4G at -98dB. Now that is pretty good! Then power-cycled cell off/on (Airplane mode on/off) I saw LTE pop up at -107dB. Took my phone out of the weBoost cradle and immediately dropped to 1 bar -119dB, then NO SERVICE. Back in cradle, and like magic, got a signal. I tried calls, data, etc. everything worked flawless. This booster worked beyond what I expected or hoped for. For the first time in years, I can relax on a remote camping vacation knowing I can take care of work related issues if they arise. I then tried tethering other devices to smartphone and we all had respectable data coverage, enough to actually stream video at night.I know this was a long winded review... but I am so excited this worked so well! I struggle with taking vacations due my work, and being able to enjoy more time with the family this trip has been priceless. I wanted to try the more expensive weBoost model (The one that you can mount in an RV), but the price was just to expensive for us right now. I think the higher end models will provide even better signal and offer more options of device connectivity.BTW, posting this review as I look at an amazing mountain range, and have plans on extending our trip since I can finally work without connectivity issues. Already told about 10 other RV\'s about this product as I see them holding there phones in the air searching for signal. I think I should start selling these myself. Everyone of them clicked \"Buy it Now\".
