- Perfect for a big and heavy phone. I used Pixel 6.This gimbal is not intuitive by all means; the manual is not informative, and the app is trashy so if you\'re looking for something simple, best to go with DJI OM 5.However, if you\'re tech savvy, this thing is solid and better than OM5 in some aspects.Let me walk your through it.There are three clicks that release pan, tilt and roll. All three have to be released before turning on the gimbal.There are 6 gimbal modes:PF - Pan Focused (tilt and pan locked; best for reveal and side way shots)L - Locked (tilt, pan and roll locked; best for forward movement)F - Free (only tilt locked; best for general use and also the most used mode)POV - Point of View (none locked; great to immitate eye view)V - Vortex (meant for 360 rolling)F quick - Action (roll and tilt responds very fast; meant for fast action; only happens when trigger button is held down)The counter weight is great and has markings to stabilize different phones. Latch opens pretty wide and it can grasp pixel 6 with a thick dbrand case.The tripod can attach to the side and turn into a sideway gimbal for portrait shots. Really helps in snow.Zoom knob is a unique feature and the middle button toggles to focus. Very convenient.Battery is great. I used whole day in Alaska and it with stood -15C temp. Only 2 of 5 bars drained.For the cons:Maybe this is an early build but the gimbal twitches if it\'s not preset a certain way during power on. This will shutdown the gimbal and you will have to restart it again.When gimbal turns off and on, the Zy cami app cannot automatically connect to the gimbal. This is very annoying.Single press in the trigger button will switch to lock mode and follow something on screen. It\'s a feature but since the button is place behind, it\'s very easy to accidentally trigger it. Reclicking with turn off follow but it won\'t switch back to previous mode. If i want to go back to PF, i have to click mode button.Still can\'t figure out how to set the FN button to custom control.Some buttons seem to not do anything.Zy Cami app is terrible. It\'s convoluted with unnecessary features and UI is not intuitive. No 4K 60 fps available in the app. No wide angle option available. These are crucial features for content creators. The app is bringing down the Zhiyun brand. Most of the time, I just use the native camera app, but the knobs and all don\'t work then.
- None of the youtube video\'s talk about this. When you try to record in different angles, the stabilization motor blocks your view. Did not have this problem with Smooth 4 or Dji OM4.Check this clip before you buy. Search for \"jjyheOZSZkA\" in youtube
- I just assumed that there would be a 1 year warranty. Upon inspection, its only 90 days from the time of purchase. Yes, my fault but what reputable company will not warranty their product for at least 1 year? My issue is that my gimbal wasn\'t used for a couple of months and it wont power on nor will it take a charge. Was good while it lasted.
- Lightweight and easy to carry in my backpack. Controls are intuitive and easily accessible using the buttons. Facial tracking is good on the app but sometimes focus may be off. Overall, a great gimbal for traveling!
- I had a smooth 4 and it worked great then I decided to upgrade to the smooth 5. I used this for about 20+ video tours. Worked great in the beginning but eventually the motor starts having problems and you have to recalibrate to get the image level again. This happens about 3 times per tour which takes me about an hour to complete. Will be buying a DJI osmo in hopes it is better and lasts longer.
- This is my first Gimbal and it\'s great. I have an iphone 13 pro max and with the case and a Kase or Moment lens, it probably gets up near the 300g limit. But properly balanced on the Zhiyun, it works perfectly. I wish some of the features of ZY Cami (like smart follow) were implemented in other apps (like Filmic) but ZY Cami still works well with all the features of the gimbal.
- The media could not be loaded. I’ve always wanted a gimbal to get better image stabilization for my videos ever since I purchased my iPhone 12 Pro Max over a year ago. However, the gimbals that were out at the time had reviews of not being able to handle heavier payloads (and I’ve wanted something that can handle an anamorphic lens) unless you use counterweights, not use a case, etc. Did a test run and it balances my phone + Moment case (thin MagSafe version) + Moment anamorphic lens with no problems. Stability is great. I haven’t really taken its paces to test out battery life yet. The gimbal is very easy to use. Can’t wait for this to be compatible with Filmic Pro.
- I have a lot of gimbals, and this has by far replaced all my other cell phone gimbals. From the zoom wheel to fine tune it, to the rubber grip and ergonomic way its made, it fits nice in your hand and the first motor has an unlimited amount of spin so you never get caught at the edge of the motor. As far as the controls they are just amazing! You can pan/tilt etc. As well as the button on the back is more ergonomic than the standard bigger ones.Highly recommend this as this is now my goto gimbal
