- I went out on a limb and bought this T4 tripod set along with the blink focus and this tripod is essential if you want to get the best footage and the functionality out of the blink focus. So just a reminder the blink focus works best with iphone 11 or newer. You want to set up this tripod at the middle side of the court and elevate it high enough so people walking bye or in front of the camera are not in view. I have found about a 40 degree angle looking down at the court results in the best tracking. I am a head coach for both a high school highly competitive winter basketball team and I coach AAU during the rest of the year for basketball. This solution is the most cost effective and it gets the job done. I expect to start seeing these everywhere like AAU tournaments and such from here on out. As soon as I put the system up, I had coaches and parents asking 20 questions each and texting themselves the name of the product. So far from the use we have done in recording our team games, this gimball is more consistent than a human filming the game. I turned up the speed of the gimball tracking settings about 10 percent to keep up with the transition basketball we play and I turned down the angle of pan by about 10 percent also so it didnt get lost by overextending past the end of the court. Both common sense adjustments. Overall a very cool and useful product. If you are on the fence, buy it. :-)
- Hi,I just returned this product. It was unable to keep up with the play action in 11v11 U16 soccer games.The tracker would loose the ball, and could not stay on play for even short passes off camera.This was a deal breaker for me. 😢Also, the way you can share and download video needs improvement. There needs to be a better way that finding the Amazon S3 video URL, copying, and pasting into a browser. 😳Here are some things I liked:The quality of the camera is nice, and was easy to pair with the phone.Packing was professional.Honestly, if they can get the tracking corrected, then it a winner.Until then, I can’t afford to miss key plays.
- Can I change the video quality? I selected the 4k 1080p video from my iphone camera setting, but it seems the video output from the blink app is still pretty low quality.
- I rarely (ever?) review products on amazon. That said, I felt the need to review this product. Based on mixed reviews, I had my doubts as to how this would work.I recorded my daughters 11v11 game this weekend on a full sized turf field. While not perfect, I have to say the AI performed remarkably well. I only had a five foot tripod and expect it to be even better next week with the 10 foot one I purchased.It seems like the developers are actively improving this product on a regular basis, so this should get better and better. Anyone expecting a Veo like recording may be (slightly) disappointed. But given that this costs approximately the same as a month of veo subscription, I would say this product is a better fit for most budgets.I do want to be clear about My only incentive of writing this review. The developers of this product appear to be a start up company. I would very much like for them to receive the support of other sports families so they can continue developing this product.Great job!
- The media could not be loaded. I bought this product and took it to a park last weekend and recorded basketball games.It almost worked perfectly! AUTOMATIC TEAM SPORTS TRACKING. This gimbal works just like there is someone intelligently turning the head from left to right, then to left, to right, trying to look for the best angle... The video result was really amazing, better than a person could do.Setup is pretty straight forward: pair with the Bluetooth, choose a game type, and start recording...I found a tripod is more necessary for recording a game that is longer than a few minutes. It can be easily mounted to a general tripod, thread size 1/4, which most tripods use.I have not used the cloud storage service features that come with this product, I will try to see how that works soon.Being almost perfect, however, this product does not support android! As an android fan, I am using my Samsung fold as my Daily driver. Now I have to take an Apple iPhone just for my games recording on the weekends, kind of annoying.... although, I found this product can still be used as a general high quality 3-Axis gimbal on both Apple and Android phones😂, Plus the smartest gimbal for sports recording.Overall, highly recommended.
- The media could not be loaded. This gimbal is a great tracking camera solution for basketball. It is lightweight, portable, and budget-friendly. Most importantly, it meets my needs. I put it on a 4ft stand and it gets like 90% of the actions. I really like the feature of uploading the footage and sharing the link. Our family can have the game recordings easily.
- This product idea is great and would\'ve been extremely helpful if it actually worked. Unfortunately it is not smart enough to do the work for basketball games. It pivots way too fast for a basketball game and it doesn\'t really follow the ball or players. I had hard time understanding what the right logic is and what it\'s trying to follow. Seems like it pivots based on objects moving around but had hard time tracking the players with the ball. It definitely missed a few fast breaks and if the ball moves too fast and the players split on both sides of the court then it got all confused. I will give it another try after a few versions when they fix all the AI and it can actually differentiates between random people walking around or players. Just started the return and on its way back to Amazon warehouse now.
- I use this for basketball, and while it isn’t perfect, it gets about 85-90% of the game. The best feature is sending out the link to the cloud. Our coaches/parents love this feature, and we have benefitted greatly from it. Solid product.
